I also heard of this five point soldering on the main board. Personally, I would never ever do this, as a person is effectively hot-wiring the complex and delicate circuitry. This is a backlight inverter issue, which means replace the inverter. Doing this hot-wiring magic, will ultimately destroy the television, even though it may take some time ! An absolute no-no !
This trick is used after testing all backlight working i won't suggestion people to do this thing without fully testing for this type of case lots of more solution available like remove over volt protection this thing never damage your TV
Meri Sony led 40" model number KDL-40R470B me bhi exactly same issue aa rha hai.... display on hota hai fir off hota hai jaisa Aapne video me dikhaya hai and fir 6 times red light blink krti hai...Maine TV electrician ki dikhaya to vo bol rha hai backlight ki problem hai and Rs 2500 maang rha hai....kya vo shiii keh rha hai?? Ya bewjh ke charges maang rha hai?

It will have side effect in long time , led back light is overecurrent /Amp,1 of the led direct short trigger the protection. Backlight power ic will cookup/spoil in certain time if bypass.Other led Also will burn out more faster because voltage already over for it .

Bhai mera tv ka model klv-40r472b ha same problem kr rha ha backlight ya board dono change karwanay parhain gay ya koi ek cheez. Or in ki price kia ho gi?

bro i have klv40r472b.. due to electric surge through dish cable ..its giving me 2 blink error after sony logo..before 2 blink error it used to run for 10 mins..thrn time decreased to only sony logo and then 2 blink error..can u help me which parts to replace? i heard changing some resistor smds does the trick...pls help..thank u brotherrrrr
I have sony bravia & having 6 time light blinking problem after sony name display, after as per your suggestion 4 point connected out of 6 point. Now 6 time blinking problem gone (ok) sound is also ok but picture is not available on screen so what can i do. Please suggest me. Thanks.

There is no such a resion required for that issue ,after a time period it's come by self but some time if auto power cut that will damage quickly as per normal conditions.

hi bro, cool fix. I m having same problem 6x blink(backlight error), after switching tv on it manages to show picture for tens seconds,than looses it for few sec,than again few seconds of picture and than goes to red bliknig mode. While its switched on,electronics inside makes high pitch noise what leads me that something is actually broken. Does inverter makes that sound or something else? Exactly same tv(same board,everything)..help :)
longer the picture is shown more noticeable is sound of electronic whining, first few sec no whine,than louder and louder like when its starting to warm up more whining sound(electronics sound,not trough speakers)..is that bad inverter behaviour?

However, what you are saying makes a sense . seems i will have to fully disassembly tv, will check it first chance. cheers man
i have sony bravia KDL-40R455B the screen starts 3 times ,the first time stays on for 5 sec and goes off with green led with a high frequency sound, the second time the same, but the 3rd time stays longer about 10 sec then goes off with red blinking led 6 times, even if i remove the led power cable that goes to backlight does the same thing but without the backlight. How to fix that?
