Hey guys - I made a detailed guide on how to install beadlock offroad wheels. In this video I am installing KMC XD229 Machete Crawl wheels with BFGoodrich KM2 37x12.5 tires.
I walk through each step that you need to know in order to be able to install your own beadlocks in your garage. This guide is universal to most beadlocks, just check your torque specifications. There are a few brands that have a different installation method such as Hutchinsons. Below is also a list of tools I used.

Damn man, I’ve installed beadlocks a couple of times and there are a lot of errors in your process. 1st anti seize should be put on the bolts, 2, never use power tools, they save time but they increase the risk of stripped bolts and the ring going down uneven. 3. make sure the ring is even before you start torquing down the bolts. 4 and the most important, DO NOT torque in a line. Always torque in a crisscrossing pattern so the ring goes down even. You should be torquing down those bolts progressively and evenly. I usually do 3 sets of torquing and use a dry erase marker to track my progress and make sure I’m doing it evenly.

Thanks for the video man. Just pulled the trigger on some Machete's and plan on running 37's. Stupid question...which valve stems did you go with? Thanks again.

Thanks for reaching out on FB. We used generic rubber stems we ordered on amazon. I don't recall the details specifically.

hallo,haw Torque spec recomand you for Wheel Lug Nuts..on jku.. 95-100 ft. lbs. or more ? tx.. for KMC normal :-)

Thanks for the video. Were you able to utilize the original lugnuts? Also, some people suggest a silicon sealant around the bead to help maintain pressure? Thoughts?

Yes you could, but we used new spline drive lugs.

Hey! My name is Casey and I have a jeep and KMC machete beadlocks too lol! Any idea what size valve stems these take? I ordered some monster valves, but need to know the correct size to order regular ones for the other holes.

Is there any need to get the tire balanced when using beadlock wheels?

Yes. You can take them to a shop and they can use adhesive weights. Ive ripped all mine off and notice no difference. The size of the tires make them hard to keep balanced as they wear as well. You can try balance beads inside the tire as well, ive heard mixed results.

What size valve stems did you use? TR-413 or TR-414?

Casey 250 no worries. I’ve watched several different install videos for these wheels and no one has actually called out what size stems they used. Just curious because I have a set of these wheels that I need to install tires on, but I need to pick up valve stems still and I didn’t want to get ones that didn’t fit. I think the diameter of the stems is pretty well standardized and the different sizes are just different lengths? Just don’t want to get some that are too short and you can’t get the tire inflated nozzle on well because they are too recessed into the wheel, but also don’t want too long that they could easily get damaged by trail debris.

@@Casey250 thanks, you need to get the air out of the wheels when you do that ? or it is done so directly with inflated wheels.. I have the exact kit on the jeep and I ask that I don't know how to maintain them ..thanks man !

Just set your torque wrench and go over. No need to deflate unless you find a few needing a lot of turning.

What's the offset on this wheels?

I believe it was 3.5in.

Yes I am pretty sure it is 3.5" back spacing and -38 offset, but I would double check with KMC or your dealer before ordering.

@@Casey250 thank you for replying! I have a set of grenades 20x10 -24 with 35x13.5 but I'm changing it to 17×9 with 38x13.5 but i cant figure the right offset (-15 or -38) so it sits as flush as my last set with my aftermarket fenders
