I didn't know the MCL was attached to the meniscus. Is the LCL attached to the lateral meniscus?

I don't think so, I believe the LCL is connected to the lateral aspect of the fibula.

Basically, the deeper part of MCL blends with the fibrous/articular capsule of knee joint and with the medial meniscus. So due it fixity with MCL, they frequently rupture together. While, lateral meniscus is separated from the LCL by the tendon of popliteus, which protects it.

Lateral rotation can cause this injury too, but is it always to the medial meniscus ?

lateral meniscus is more prone to injury than medial meniscus
@sayanmondal5672
@sayanmondal5672 5 лет назад
Jimin Son nope ...it’s the opposite cuz the medial meniscus is attached to the tibial collateral ligament which exchanges mobility for stability...thus it is less adaptable to a sudden motion
