My issue with Mike's assessment about the NBA is that he's applying the Heat logic to the rest of the league. He, Heat fans, and the Heat organization got spoiled by the Finals run last year, and think that the regular season means nothing because they'll turn it on come playoff time and win everything. But the rest of the league isn't like that. Don't tell me the Minnesotas, OKCs, Orlandos, Sacramentos, etc., don't care about winning games and improving their playoff positioning and home court advantages.

Everyone loves to say “they traded the entire team for Melo”, but they leave out all the facts. The Knicks built a good team shortly after that and replaced all of those guys from the trade with better guys. Chandler was better than Mozgov, JR Smith was better than Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton came back, and Melo and Galo played the same position. The issue was Amar'e Stoudemire, who was supposed to be the co-star and was making the second most on the team was always injured and relegated to being a bench player. Also the Andrea Bargnani trade was much worse than the Melo trade. Then Phil Jackson came in a blew up the team completely, instead of building on what they already had.
I absolutely love Mero but why does Dan constantly remind him that his super popular show didn't work out at every turn??? Let the man move on. He's happy.
