PAT WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU... ONCE A KNICK ALWAYS A KNICK AND YOU WERE OUR HEART AND SOUL FOR SO MANY YEARS AND THROUGH THE TOUGHEST BATTLES.. EVEN WHEN YOUR KNEES GAVE OUT YOU NEVER SHAMED YOURSELF OR OUR TEAM.. TRUE KNICKS FANS LOVE YOU ...
Since 1989 (8 yrs/old), was, is, + ALWAYS will be my favorite player of ALL TIME in ANY sport!! Still breaks my heart that he never got that ring! Funkin 94' man- they were the BETTER TEAM that year + if not for that dumbass 2-3-2 Finals format I truly believe the NYK woulda been celebrating down 7 AVE w/ a much deserved ticker-tape PARADE!!
Laker fan all day but Ewing was one of the greats and if it wasnt for Jordan and Olajuwon he would have had a ring. Also i love the way he dunked on people cuz it was all length and power...like this long ass arm you couldnt reach just jacking the ball through the hoop hard. dope
The Knicks, the same organization and fanbase that treated him like dogshit throughout his playing career; I highly doubt he would ever return to that shitty organization especially if they are the biggest choke artists in all professional sports
Patrick missed some big shots in his career, but he was never afraid to take them. He was a larger than life legend in NYC and will never be forgotten!
Loved this he was and still is my favorite knick it's a damn shame his career ended like it did and that now the Knicks are under what I'd call the Ewing curse.
...Ewing's game-winning shots against the Heat in the 1999 playoffs, his return after being out most of the season in the 1998 playoffs vs. the Pacers (Game 3, I believe), his triple-double in 1996, his three-pointer against the Bulls in Game 7 of the '94 playoffs, Ewing's game winner off the backboard from the far baseline vs the Bulls (1997...same game as the dunk over Rodman), his monster slam vs the Nets (late 80s?), Ewing with the block and going end to end for the slam vs the Heat (1990).
The biased sport media (ESPN particularly) has always been enamored of showing highlights where Jordan dunks on Patrick but here we have a tangible proof that Patrick owned Jordan's ass on the defensive end many times and Olayuwon, as well.
So I have two favorite players of all time both wore 33 both were franchise players changed the game both played for U.S. basketball never will be forgotten go Patrick go Ewing
Golden Era of Centers in the NBA. Imagine if Ewing were born 20-25 years later. Nowadays the best center is Dwight Howard for crying out loud. Ewing is a couple levels above him.
The only Knicks team that were eliminated by the Bulls that were serious championship-caliber was the 93' team. NY-PHX would have been interesting. The 89' Knicks don't get past the 63 win, Bad Boy Pistons that eventually won it all. The 91' Knicks were a sub .500 team. The 92' Knicks, MAYBE, but beating the Cavs and Blazers of that year would be very tough. The 96' Knicks don't beat the Magic and sure as hell not the 64-win Sonics.
hands down best nyk of all time also a top 5 center of all time i wish him success at georgetown so he can come back home professionally and lead the knicks to the promised land
And finally, one of my favorites... Game 3 of the 1996 playoffs vs. the Bulls, where Ewing hit a huge shot just before the end of regulation and then two big shots in the final minute or so of OT to bring the Knicks from behind to victory.
Ewing will never get credit for actually being a *very* clutch player. The amount of game-winning shots he hit is endless. He missed a few too (like the finger roll versus the Pacers in 1995) but then again, so have all the stars. The Knicks would have been nothing without Ewing carrying them all those years. A few more for the list... game winner vs. Magic in the early 94-95 season, Ewing's rejection on Olajuwon in the 1994 finals (a different one from the one in the countdown)...
imagine if Mark Jackson hadn't gone to Indiana, then no Charles Smith, Charles Smith, Charles Smith. Knicks would've had Oakley, Ewing, Jackson, Starks, Mason, oh what could've been
Thanks for this vid,…growing up in Bklyn back in the days,…..these were some of the best times ever and it had the whole city buzzing….good times, great childhood memories🙏🏾❤️💪🏾
