hey, good for you. I think you did a good job on the whole thing. You need to practice with non-powered hand tools (what I mean isn't that you "need to," I mean that I think you would enjoy it). You could do the sculpture better and almost as quickly with specialty hand files (rifflers). Again, you did a good job. I am saying this because I think you might enjoy trying the other techniques. I get them from friedrich dick (files and rasps, and they are amazing). Pferd also make great hand files, rifflers, and rasps. You should also make yourself some good little chisels, and drive them with a small hammer. Finally, you should or at least could make yourself scrapers. Any old file will work to make a scraper from. A simple rectangular piece of really thin high carbon steel (.5mm) will make a good cabinet scraper if you heat treat it. Sorry for the long comment. You are quite capable. If you take the time to learn these non-powered or slightly-powered tools, you will enjoy yourself. They are fun to make and use. But, I have a file problem. I use them all of the time. You work is very good. I am not trying to send the message that you need to improve. I am just another craftsman who is excited by the craft, and I want to share other things to enjoy with you. Thanks for sharing.
