It was going to be black and have the gull wing steering wheel with KITT’s voice modulator above it and similar rims to the original but due to the disagreement with glen a Larson not wanting to allow them to use anymore then Michael and Devon and KITT personality and voice and the fact the network wanted the car red since they planed to replace Michael with Shawn as KITT’s partner and driver to attact young women since they would have a strong woman lead for the series which was to follow the pilot movie and the cars were built far closer to looking like the 88 Pontiac banshee concept car and Pontiac said to change it so everything from the nose back had to be remade and rebuilt and they already had to redesign the dash design due to not able to use the original designs

I can't understand why larson wouldn't allow the use of kitts dash design. I would have thought he would have been proud to use it again
