13:39 I know about and drive a Chevrolet Astro van, so for a moment I thought GMC Astro was an error (and that GMC had the Safari twin of the Astro van) until I noticed there was no van to been seen, just a truck, so I checked and sure enough GMC had a cabover by that name. Not sure why they used the same name twice, but then again, Chevrolet used Lumina for both a sedan and a minivan, so maybe it's not _that_ unusual.

That stunt where the car stops with a wheel hanging off the edge of the road must have been a bit nerve wracking. I can't decide about the reversing scene. Is it done for real or is it on a stage with a screen behind the car? Great to see these extras. Thank you.

It must have been nerve-racking for both stunt men. The 2 reversing scenes look real to me. Notice how the camera and the car's interior is shaking. Hasselhoff seems focused on carefully steering the car. Notice how the back of the car lowers when it stops and also the dust coming to the windshield and side of the car.
@FirstDan2000
@FirstDan2000 2 года назад
@@vinpetrol4309 You have a good eye for detail. I'm convinced. I can't believe they would let The Hoff do that, up there, on a narrow hillside trail. It's really risky. I guess actors were a tougher breed back then. Great user name, by the way.

@daviatorcustoms3168
@daviatorcustoms3168 2 года назад
The watch body and innards which is actually a wristwatch radio was manufactured under a variety of different brands. I believe if memory serves correctly, the one used on Knight Rider was either from Armitron or Advance, but it was like a GM rebadged car, as many other companies also stuck their own brand name on it with no other changes to the design. (the displayed brand name on the watch was where the 'engage' or 'transmit' words were on Michael's commlink)

Another fan of this episode!! I like the beginning when they get the assignment, "and the heat and the dust and small little animals crawling all over your fenders!" And then the turbo boost miniature scene is over the top, "I'll need Bonnie, you got her!" Favorite scene is when they take off out of the complex at the end and KITT's engine revving from slow to fast as they pass the screen is the best extended engine sound scene that I always remember ramping up to SPM, "alright Pal, give me Super Pursuit Mode, with pleasure Michael!" Gotta crank up the sound for that whole scene! Then, the entrance they make stopping with EBS is bad ass, and if you listen somebody says, "yeah, KITT's here!" Other favorite scene is the hydraulic lowering of KITT in the semi via a simple overhead console button push, "right down to where he gets his hair and nails done", they were really polishing up the series at this point, too bad it was almost over :-(

I know you're not up to Hills of Fire yet, but I thought I'd comment here for when you do, even though I'm guessing you were going to mention it anyways lol. Can you please point out Mr Vernon Wells in that episode? He played Wez in Mad Max 2: the Road Warrior, and even after the 15 years I've been watching Knight Rider I only noticed him a few weeks back. I believe he's the only Aussie in the series over 4 seasons but I'm happy to be corrected lol

That stock Trans Am has some mystery in this episode. We clearly see that KITT didn't like the Camaro's wheels and put his own instead. As a Kid, I actually, until RC came in, always assumed the FLAG was rolling by itself. Then there's this episode where we see Jack driving it (I think it was Jack, in season 2...). That was when I realized, ok there's some driver after all. Still a great job to trick kids. That SPM scene is really cool. And the one in the back seat moves forward, even though they were going above 280 mph. Pretty cool those scenes.

I'm pretty sure the woman riding in the car with Michael at the beginning of the episode was in a Seinfeld episode where she played a cleaning lady at George Costanza's office when he had a brief stint at Pendant Publishing (Elaine's place of work) and George ended up sleeping with the cleaning lady on his desk. Then to buy her silence he attempted to gift her a cashmere sweater that he tried to give to Elaine but it had a small red dot on it - like a stain - that nobody was supposed to see yet somehow everyone including the cleaning lady could see it. Suffice it to say....George got canned for having sex on his desk with the cleaning lady. That was from Season 1 or 2 or something like that....so it would've been about 5-6 years after this Knight Rider episode. Just a fun little factoid that I'm 99% sure I'm correct on.

While not in the league of the best episodes, Burial Ground, to me, is one of the better season 4 episodes and more watchable than many season 4 episodes. If they did a little more work on separating the storyline from so many other action shows of the 70s and 80s that tried the similar Native American premises based on stereotypes, it could have been better, for sure, but overall, not a terrible episode and the model work was also significantly impressive here.
