Now that is some amazing work! It's good that u kept some original paint, even if u can't see it. Most people who restore original things don't always keep original paint. I love all of the work u put into this channel and Knight Rider history. Great work!

Depending on the material left. If you could cut or sand the dash side flat. Then use carbon fiber 3D printer to make a spacer with the needed holes for any wiring to pass through. Then bond it to the dash and pods then cover it with fiberglass to remold it to look like one piece. The spacer I would have plugs sticking out then drill holes on the dash and pod side so it’s not just the adhesive holding it. This would give it strength both from the carbon fiber print bonded but also the fiberglass.

That's already stunning work you did, well done! I almost expected the Axel F-remix theme they played while rebuilding KITT after being destroyed in the acid pit, while you were applying the coating..would have been a nice fit :D Keep up the great work, can't wait for the next video.

You could mount the pods on pins and fill in around it with apoxie

Or its rubberized plastic over the top of the spray foam molded shaped textured structure.& then it's basically adding spray foam.& then relocating that rubberized plastic compound mixture for putt over the top of the spray can great stuff foam from A wal-mart.,or lowes& home depot.,Menards.,or some other place like rural king farm stores.& tractor supply stores.

Ya I got some ideas y'all could try bailing wire as pins. To hold the pieces together into place. The before reading the pods back on. Remove the wire pins. while you add great stuff spray synthetic foam. were the material is missing on the area were the pods go.& then next sand that area really good.& then add carbonfiber resin& recarbonfiber& resin over the main structure.& then sand it down smoothe.& go over any missed spots.

You might try places that makes mirror casing.,or plastic.&or rubberized plastic coated dashboards from GM& the rest of those places.,or try doing some online researching on that types of material like for dipping tools into for handles on pliers.& wrenches.& etc. It could be made from those factories.,or can make up your own rubberized plastic dipping. to match backup to the original based texture components compound instead yourself.

If you half to make shaped pinned hole plate sides.so that you can slide those wires through the plates just until your ready to add. The spray great stuff foam in A spray can that color matches close as possible to./ AKA ACAP on that part. Then add the carbon fiber resin& the carbonfiber& more resin on top.

It looks like to me like vinyl.,or rubberized plastic coating that they dipped the spray foam into is all truthfully. That's what I'm guessing about it from looking at it myself. That's just my oppion though on it to. Although if it is you could make your own recasting dipping mold for repairing that dashboard.& others aswell to for side money hustle projects aswell. To make A few extra dollars when needed on hand.

Do you think you could stud it from behind? Maybe with like five studs then build the fiberglass over the studs in between the pods and the dash?

The disrespect people sometimes show historical pieces of art, remember art is subjective, pisses me off. Even if it doesn't mean something to the person who has it, why not treat it with respect in case someone who does respect it comes along. Leaving this dash out in the elements? Blasphemous! I feel the same way about film and TV vehicles that are left out in the elements at studio backlots. 😥
