Great review, also I enjoyed your fake games investigation story lol. I wish someone would make an open world Knight Rider game. If mainstream video game developers won't do it, I would settle for a fan made game using GTA 5's game engine. It would be so cool to have an open world Knight Rider game featuring actual music from the series. Perhaps the Knight Rider Historians could look into what it would take to make it happen. It is beyond criminal that developers based in the US have not thought enough to make a Knight Rider game other than the one released for the NES in the 1980s. 2002 was the 20th anniversary of the show, and it's ironic that a game developer outside of the US decided to make games based on the show but not release them in North America.

KITT can separate fingerprints with analysis apparently... they did that on the show in '84 and as a kid I said: "Won't there be multiple sets of prints?" I actually did two things to play the game: I own the games physically, of course. Bought them from sellers in England over a year ago. Used a FreeMcboot memory card to put them on my NTSC PS2; and I also have an emulator on my Mac. I can play both on my computer and my PS2. 😁
I actually did a full video on Rock'em Sock'em this past year and I did a video on their Super Mario Pinball in store too. I actually hang out there quite a bit. The owner is a friend and I like to help out at the store. I have a C&C Video coming out in a few weeks, and I did a Retro Taku video on both stores last year too. Those stores are about an hour away from where I live though. A friend of mine lives near Walled Lake. Yep, it indeed is a small world!
I wanted the ps2 version so bad but could only find PAL versions back then, I had to settle for the PC version which I didn't prefer because the game lagged or frozen sometimes on the PC I had. I didn't hear much about Davilex games after the 2nd game released I think they went under shortly after. It was just an okay game though not legendary by any means. Would be nice if a new developer came in on a new engine platform to design or make modern KR game.
A new game on the GTA V engine would be amazing! It’s a shame they only released it for PAL on PS2. I imported my copies from England in 2023. I had to mess around with soft modding my PS2 and Mac emulators just to play the first game. The cut scenes on the PS2 because it was soft modded, were choppy. A different soft mod on a FAT PS2 would eventually be the best option. Thank you for the comment! 😎
Yes, I mentioned that in the video. I have no idea why they only released it there since the show is American. Miami Vice the game only came out in Europe too 🤷.

This game was a let down for me. I was so disappointed man. I thought i downloaded a hard hack version or something. I played it ot for 2 hours & i was done. I was just doing the same thing over & over. I'm ok with the voice acting. But not the be gameplay. I never knew there's a part 2
Oh, I understand. I played that thing all the way through. My nostalgia probably gave it a better score than it deserves. The video for Part 2 will be out hopefully by November- probably sooner. We’ll see how that one is. 🫢 And you’re right, it was tedious, especially the running from one end if creation to another in very little time. And the climbing up in buildings? That’s was just dumb. They could easily make a new game from the ground up a. A cross of GTA and Splinter Cell, and heavy into the investigations. Your action determine the outcome and a map that goes coast to coast, loaded with side mission throughout like Skyrim.

At first I didn’t understand the question, but the problem is context. KITT picked me up in New Jersey. That’s a long drive. If you watch my AVGN episode (there’s the “previously on Game Closet” part at the beginning of this video that is at the end of my AVGN episode ). Check that one out. As for Detroit itself, I go there a couple times a year. A friend lives there. Plus… that’s the home of ROBOCOP! And the Tigers!
If you have a PC, it’s very inexpensive and easier to obtain worldwide. It’s worth a play for sure, but I’d bet you’d never play it twice. 😁 Thanks for your comment and for watching.

5:58 Ski Mod and Vertical Hurdles ? That where the game actually looks bad . Maybe if that was purely by accident while playing, that would be forgiven . But expected to climb up walls unnatural using kit seems like a weird idea from the devs
@joezar33 the ski mode does come in handy (line in the show) but the turbo boosting onto roofs and boxes, etc. was totally goofy. If they really wanted to go upstairs to something, they should have just made it possible in the game for Michael to get out of KITT! That would have made more sense. The pronunciation of "semi" is native "English" pronunciation it's just not American English! Since this wasn't published in the USA the way the Hasslehoff impersonator say the lines is less annoying for us Brits! It's great not to have our English massacred in our PAL market! However, I swapped this game for The Justice League, the right decision as Knight Rider's memory should not be tarnished with second rate games. The Sat Nav was great however!

There are folks here that say jaguar “jag-wire” and it drives me batty! I did a bit on the two correct ways to pronounce that in my Atari 50 Celebration video and it was hilarious (that included the proper American and British ways.) I think you made a proper trade with the Justice League game. Knight Rider The Game was worth one play through and that’s it. It kinda has that vibe to look at it, but the first Spyhunter for PS2 is definitely a better balanced game and prettier- but that’s probably also due to a bigger budget and more able design team. Good point made there! Thank you.
