I think Ima pick up the pliers wrench I have to deal with brass fittings on the fly at times and I hate using something with teeth on em. That foot print and the quick slide action is a win win
I've carried that exact set for years. Have them all day everyday. I have an old leather covered magnetic money clip that i use to keep them together in my pocket as well as to hold them on a metal surface
@@fixitfelix718 Depends, 125 is the length in mm so ~5” I have the cobra’s and pliers wrench both. I’m much more of an adjustable wrench guy than a pliers wrench guy though. Though both are in my toolbag!
@@plumbraider2265 got you only when i have to get under a refrigerator to loosen an ice maker do i need my small crescent but the head on this is similar to a crescent with those 2 flat side would u say itll replace thw adjustable
They both have the same parallel capacity, but if you’re in a pinch and can apply enough force the arc pliers open slightly wider at an increased angle.
The Cobra XS is really nice for an EDC pliers. I have the PliersWrench in 150mm with soft grips. Probably going to pass on the PW XS until there is a sale.
I appreciate you pronouncing Knipex correctly my man, its dumb when i hear folks who think theyre intelligent and insist its 'Nipex', stay up my man!!!
@@nickmagma7745 most people have unnecessary habits that they technically can’t afford but fit it into their budget, and if you’re a construction worker then your probably have multiple lmao
I carry my knipex cobra (the 5 inch /10cm cobra not the xs) attached to my keychain. The easiest way is to use a cord that snugly fits from the backside through the upper handle and then arround the lower handle. It stays closed and securely attached if the cord is just the right size.
@@ollibothat goes for knife channels too. Sure they mught have an interest as a hobby, but they soon shill and say whatever companies pay them for. They care more about views and money, than helping people get products that last and will help them in their lives
I would get the 5" with the button over the 4" and the 7" isn't too much bigger with a substantial amount more power, as in torque ability. I have them all. Leaving a 7" in your center console may not be a bad idea 💡
They're called Pliers Wrench by Knipex their German manufacturer. It does all the adjustable 'spanner'(Crescent wrench) work, but does it better. The fact that you can squeeze the handle super tightly on fasteners is so very useful & also can open up fast to be able to quickly 'ratchet' back & forth. Unlike crescent wrenches that must be removed off nut\bolt each time & snugged up to tighten each turn. Both are useful but one is the better choice & #1 in quality!👌🏻👍🏻🔧🔩🛠️
Because it's high quality German made tool, not a cheap, made in China, piece of garbage. Even the detailed teeth are hardened. These are precision enough to use as tweezers in a pinch(the jaws are that tight!)! In 2024, is $35-$40 really that much money? Yeah I agree that the 'size per $' a lil high but this is a tool that will never wear out, break, or fail. Only way it will be replaced is when it's lost\stolen! I carry a slightly bigger 125mm(~5") pair in a (hip)holster along w\ nice bright flashlight everyday and of course a knife clipped to pocket. You'd be surprised how often you need(or could use) a pair of pliers in your daily life. #EDC 👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧📏🔩
Definitely small. It’s nice to see the level of quality they’re able to maintain from the xxl to the xs sizes though. I really enjoy them. Thanks for checking it out!
The Cobra has teeth so on a soft nut or bolt it could damage the head. The Pliers Wrench is smooth so it can't damage the head. But the Cobra is better as an EDC and costs about half the price.
Yes, if picking just one for EDC, go Cobra 1st then add Pliers Wrench possibly in the future. Honestly the pliers wrench is only really useful if you're gripping the flats of soft (brass, copper, plastic) hex fasteners & trying to not harm the (chrome, plated)polished surface on finished faucets & trim pieces like that. Basically something you would use a crescent wrench on instead of 'channel locks'. I really don't see a reason to EDC a PW🔧 especially this small. The bigger 6" -8" PW are perfect though for a plumber or someone doing that kind of finish work. Personally I carry the 125mm Cobras along w\ f.light in a holster everyday. You'd be surprised when you need a pair of pliers. I much rather have these that can actually do work versus all those 100's of so-called multi-tools that break at the pliers head whenever you try to actually use them for pliers things!! 😅👍🏻👌🏻
@@MyUnquenchableThirst oh no I meant the thickness of the material is fine i was hoping they would just be closer together or design them in a way to be disassembled for easier EDC pocket storage. I'd love to incorporate these into my EDC especially if they were made out of titanium.
In Germany the k is pronounced but in English k is silent It’s like saying Mercedes or bmw in German it’s different than in English Adidas is another example Different pronunciation
😢They sell handle 'plasti-dip' so you can apply it at home, or put a couple layers of electrical shrink tubing in them. The next size up 125mm(5") does have the coating and they're also better sized imo, 4" is kinda small to work with, especially with large hands, the 125's are still small enough to EDC but can still do actual work, while still being precise enough to tweeze a sliver out! 🛠️🔧🔩👍🏻👌🏻
Leatherman pliers suck compared to these. Id carry these if I really needed pliers alot over a leatherman but I just carry a victorinox and a regular folder
Might as well start then…. I’m on call 24/7 for service calls and use them everywhere. I carry the 150s typically along with the PB Swiss ratcheting driver. Those two will do most small call outs 😊
How would anyone get any kind of force or leverage onto a fastener of any type that's 3/4 inch or more with handles only 2 inches long ? I can see these being incredibly usefully for half inch plumbing tasks but does anyone think they'd really loosen a 3/4 inch bolt on an engine?
It’s isn’t though 😉 I’m a Knipex Ambassador and can assure you that you pronounce the K. Knipex even sells a shirt in their merch store now to help people with that issue.
@@nicholasvinkler1635 quite a bit yes, usually can just ask for anything else I need. They send out a box every 90 days of their new tools and things too. This is a brand new thing though, only been in this year
Definitely not, The company has specifically requested it be said that way, it’s a German company and German pronunciation. Here’s a short I did about it: ru-vid.com1mgCErcyifw?feature=share
