I've got a pair of an earlier version of these. Plain red handles. Missing the rotary locking mechanism. They're small and very handy. Diagonal cutters work fine on zip ties. Felco C7 or Knipex wire rope cutters both work way better on wire rope. The $13 Felco clones also work and are much less painful to lose.
Another good point! I know for me, cutting wire rope isn’t super common for me to do, just wanted to show the versatility! For sure if you’re doing wire rope all the time, wire rope cutters are definitely the way to go!
As for crimping ferrules and sleeves, on wire rope, buy a real swager, like an Arm Sangyo. People are risking their lives with those uncalibrated crimps.
