Make all the bunny baskets you need! Knit just like a beginner beanie on a 48 needle Sentro knitting machine or a 46 needle Addi!
You choose your favorite #4 Worsted weight yarn colors and just start cranking. If you have a 22 needle circular machine too you can make the ears and handle as tubes. I do share tips on how to make the ears and handle with panels on the big knitting g machine that you can stitch into tubes and continue as the video shows.
Materials:
2 colors of worsted weight yarn I used Lion brand Pound of Love Denim Blue and Caron Simply Soft Cream color)
Darning needle
48 needle Sentro Circular Knitting Machine
22 needle Addi Circular knitting machine
Pattern:
Knit basket/bag(knit just like a 2 color Beanie Hat)
Knit the Liner 50 rounds (color B)
Drop color B add in Color A knit 70 rounds
Knit Outside and cuff
(Tube length total 120 rounds)
With darning needle do Long tail Cast off
Cinch both ends and stitch to close.
Tuck liner to the inside and fold down cuff.
On 22 needle machine
Ears: Knit 2 tubes 25 rounds each
cinch ends closed tie off
Handle: knit 1 tube 75-85 rounds long
Cinch ends closed, tie off
Roll in tight tube lengthways and mattress stitch long edge to make a long squishy handle
Assemble:
Stitch handle to inside of basket with ear on outside of hat lined up with the handle.
Do on both sides
Attach safety eyes and nose or embroider facial features, you can cut felt pieces also and glue with fabric glue.
You have made a fun and whimsical Bunny basket the will be way more interesting that the old grocery store baskets!
