Knit & Chat: All My Summer Knits and What I'm Working On Now
Hello and welcome to a cosy little video where I'll show you everything I've knitted this Summer, plus what I'm working on right now.
I definitely had got hit by the "knitted tops bug" this Summer, and for the first months of Summer all I wanted to knit was tops! I also went through a phase of stripes, and recently I've had a color crush on pink 💕
Some of the projects shown in the video I have knit pattern for already, and some are coming up this Fall :)

One of the best aspects of this luxurious show and tell is that it really does reveal that some things do not meet their goal and that you learn from it and go on from there, in such a steadfast way. I think you give courage to so many knitters who could be scared of making a mistake or not having the outcome dreamt of. You remain intrepid and inspiring! What you do produce is just gorgeous!

I love how you show the true side of knitting! I think at times, we all get caught up while consuming knitting youtube/knitstagram/ravelry post, and start to think that every project must turn out right the first time, or we should only have a certain number of WIPs, or its not okay to fall out of love with a project, or we need to knit at a certain frequency. I really appreciated your openness, because I think many of us can relate :)

Love, love, love your designs. Especially, the lace cardigan 😮. I also think your pattern writing is awesome. Very detailed but not too wordy. You are also, one of the only designers who has video support. It really shows, your love and enthusiasm for knitting.

Thank you for normalizing this process, Kika. I've been knitting since March of this year and I currently have 7 projects on needles and I've only finished 4. I keep telling myself I have to finish something before I cast on something new, and I have a whole library full of patterns and yarn that I've purchased, but I rarely find the motivation to really see something through. I sincerely appreciate your willingness to show us your wip graveyard, and the reassurance you offer that this should be fun and exciting and cherished. It's OK to change your mind and go in a new direction and I'm grateful for the reminder.

I’m the person 🙋‍♀️ waiting for your wishbone. In fact, I know several who would like it. We have a Kika fans Ravelry group and several of us were just discussing how we want to have a Wishbone KAL this fall and we are ALL wanting the tutorial. We love your designs and videos. I was 4 or 5 years old when I was first introduced to knitting. It was such a comforting, relaxing time. My grandmother would put me on her lap and let me wrap the yarn around the stitches, and eventually, hold the needles while she guided me. Her patience was amazing. I haven’t knitted in years, but came across your channel and I’m obsessed again! Thank you for your content!?❤

Love your videos and positive attitude! I appreciate the sharing of your graveyard of unfinished projects. Let's face it, we all have them and like to ignore them. I am feeling inspired after watching you to work with my pandemic yarn I spun on lockdown and use it for a sweater. Thanks for sharing. Right now I'm working on the Nuffield Tie by Nadine Dransfield, except I am loom knitting it, instead of needle knitting it. I made a swatch, and, since it’s in linen stitch, I am adding a lifeline every ten or so rows. The rows of my acrylic swatch shrunk dramatically after washing and drying (in a net), and my stitches ended up being exactly half the number of the project swatch. It was some wild figuring, but it's going swimmingly, especially with little bits of red straw on every other peg, and a reminder on my alteration notes which ones I'm slipping in front and whichever ones I'm knitting. Linen stitch is so easy to mess up. I'm contemplating whether or not to add some cotton fabric, to go onto the back of the tie, sewing it onto the edges with the ladder stitch. I really like your yellow lace top, and I hope you make something of it. It's really very pretty.

The wishbone one is gorgeous! I love it when cables run down into (or up into) ribbing. So I'm looking forward to that pattern! And the love letter lace top is fabulous. I've never knitted a summer top so that could be my first. I also love the last one - that shade of pink is beautiful! I love all of your knits - and the crocheted bag is lovely too!

Crazy how many patterns you published over the summer😮 and all are stunning! I definitely want to knit a cardigan in Borsted Alpaka sooo cozy and it would be my first! I really enjoying watching your youtube videos I am still working on my beginner sweater knitting bottom to the top because it is easy for me because I have dyslexia since birth. Like you I too have unfinished knitting projects on the go and I am hoping to finish my before the end of September
