Knitted Pants Made on the Addi King Size & Small Addi 

My granddaughter is 5 now but when she was 2 I was inspired by the same hello kitty pants and did them on the addi too. I made 2 flat panels for the legs then hung them around the k.addi and knit the body. You will have to e-wrap the extra needles as the machine comes around to them (there's videos on youtube for the ewrap) to keep them from dropping. The inseam is the only thing that was left and I did that by hand...mattress stitch. I made the waistband wide enough for a piece of elastic to be placed inside before stitching down. They fit her nicely and it was fun figuring out the method.

Also you could have done the flat setting and made each side from waist to ankle. You then sew the back & front from the waist-crotch, then the legs from ankle to ankle closing the crotch at the same time (picture a U). Maybe even "graft" all the seams so it will be seamless!!

To eliminate the seam you should use the knit- grafting method. There's a tutorial on RU-vid. It's easier and there will be no holes!!

Interesting ideas. How would ribbon run through the joins look as a decoration, probably with little bows in the front? I agree the Kitchener stitch, which I have yet to master, would be a smoother join.

First let me thank you for showing me your idea. I haven't yet tried this, but i definitely will be trying it. My 22 needle Addi arrived "today" and is still in the box!!! While watching your video and when i saw you putting the stitches onto your circular needle, i "thought" that you were going to do like a "three needle bind off" to "attach" all three pieces together. i think that would give you a more uniform graft, but i don't think that it would look "seamless", and i doubt that it would be "stretchy". Years ago I had an idea to make a pair of Toddler size pants on the Addi. I made this video documenting the process. I had a few snags that happened but my biggest was not grafting the legs on seamlessly. This has been my least favorite video that I have done.
