I'd reached the stage of stuffing my first knitted toy head, I'm making Tilly Hare from Knitted Animal Friends. I remembered I'd previously watched this video of yours and came back to watch it again. It's been so helpful too rewatch. This first head is going to be a huge learning curve as I haven't knitted in around 35 years. At the moment feeling quite anxious about the face to look as sweet and cute as I can. Getting some practice in before I attempt a Little Cotton Rabbit pattern.

I use a watered down non toxic acrylic paint for the cheeks. Adding a little at a time and blotting as I go. It should be permanent when dry. I also do my indentation for the eyes separately so I have more control and I can pull it in quite tight. It's also less stress if my knots don't turn out even. I'll give this way a go though as it does reduce the steps taken. I'm loving your videos Elise 😊

I watched all the videos and bought tons of patterns to make animals. I have the cutest elephant, the Tearoom doll that I embroidered a doll face on my embroidery machine. I plan on sewing the face on and making a yarn wig. I hate mohair wigs they are messy and you can't fix them. I have all the pieces of a horse done. The finish work I do a little each day :)

Do you ever tie knots in the embroidery thread? The knitted toys seem so delicate, can children play with them? I have a pattern for the posy doll that I want to make for my granddaughter,.
@EliseRoseCrochet
@EliseRoseCrochet Год назад
I don't tie knots in them but anchored French knots work well. Any handmade toy is going to be more delicate than a store bought. I have fixed a toy before when it was "loved" a little too hard!! 😂
