I have a skein of Sunday Fibre Co I ordered from Canada...it's been in my stash over a year :P so I'm ready to use it!

Yay, so excited for the KAL! I have the perfect special skein in stash; it's from a local alpaca farm and I got to meet and take photos with the alpaca it came from! I've been afraid to use it mostly because it's an odd amount--about 230 yards of heavy fingering/light DK--and I of course want to use the whole skein. I want to do something like a Sophie Scarf, but the scarf and shawl patterns are each too little and too much yardage for what I have. So, the plan is to make a similar design where it increases towards the middle and then decreases towards the end, and using a scale to weigh the skein to find the middle instead of using a pattern to tell me.

Your flower garland was so cute and Springy. I bet you would love the pillow patterns by Knit Collage. You could use your stash yarns instead of buying Knit Collage yarns if you wanted. They are knitted though but are so cute and kind of Boho. ❤

Love the idea of the KAL and all those special skeins you showed ! I have one in mind I would like to join with, that I picked up on a trip to new haven when my parents visited me here in the US… it’s extra special because the indie dyer was working in the shop where I picked it up, and the skein has some silk in it 😍

For crochet, I highly recommend Hooked on Sunshine. Nessa’s a parent whose patterns are so good, you can do them as an absolute beginner 🙌

Oh I casted on yesterday a pair of socks with a very special skein (dyed by a friend) so I will be happy to join your Kal ! It is a lovely speckled yarn, which make think of the one your parents gifted to you. I use the "broken seed stitch socks" pattern but with only one color to have a textured pair and it works pretty well I think ( I can show you a picture on Instagram if you want ^-^). To be sure that there is enough contrast with 2 colors I take a picture of the yarns close together in black and white : You have to see 2 really different shades of grey to be sure it will be ok. And I can make a set of stitches markers for socks for your giveaway if you want too ^^ ( 3 for the socks and one progress keeper) I'm French, so I hope my English is not to ... weird '^^ Have a nice day !
