Girl- I went into Joann’s for a zipper and came out with $75 worth of yarn- Eddie Bauer on sale and I bought the same coral and blue cotton as you. The wool-paca yarn was on sale too so I got 4 skeins in the almond color - great buy as it is 50% wool and 50% alpaca. The Patons classic wool was on clearance so I grabbed some of that too. Then a few days later the email came about Patons sale - my Joann didn’t have the linen so I really wanted to try it - bought the same sweet potato color, and of course more classic wool- $100 later my cart was full lol 😂
LOVING THIS CONTENT! so happy I discovered your podcast this week! I live on the coast of NC and it's been SO HAWT recently but I'm on a knitting frenzy so very much so related to sticking to cotton and linen fibers
Eddy Bauer yarn has been popping up on my radar a lot lately, love a great quality budget yarn! I can't wait to try it, especially their wool-paca blend!
You live in a region that has extremely long warm weather seasons, so you are completely justified in buying all of the cotton yarn! 😂 That Patons linen looks very interesting. I've never heard of it, so I'm interested in hearing what you think of it after using it.
Marling is something I have only done with very similar colors, but doing it for transitional pieces makes so much sense! I'll take that with me and have that in mind 😍
Currently knitting the Midsummer Dancer socks by Sari Nordlund. If you haven't made them before, I think you would really like them! It's a lace sock with a ruffle top. Love the pod <3
Love the video. I learned to knit when I was 42. We had just moved to a farm an hour away from my family. It has been a lifesaver. So excited to see young girls knitting. I'm 63 now and still knit every day...mostly shortie socks. Hope you have a great summer!
If you want a sock pattern that has garter, you could do the Rye Socks by Tin Can Knits (I believe it’s a free pattern). Sophie scarf is always a good one too if you like an ascot. Welcome to the daycare illness train 😢, we had to switch Elliot’s day care in the middle of winter and it was pure suffering 😂
The one that I want crop pattern by Lily Kate makes is a project I’m using with 2 fingering weight skeins held together which is allowing me to get my size out of 2 sock yarns I only have a single skien of each (I’m marling a light blue and a blue speckled white). It’s garter stitch and really simple so pretty close to what you were hoping for with a fingering weight simple garter stitch pattern as long as you have another preferably summery fingering weight yarn to hold double with your original skien.
Lovely, as always! I'm working on a Peacock Tee right now and I'm looooving it, but I'm planning on casting on a June Top after, so it was great to hear your thoughts on it!
Hi! I'm trying to knit this kerchief but got a lil confused... Umm i knitted it till the first 38 rows.. And the pattern says to repeat the same 15-38 rows . So do i remove the stich marker from the from rows?
I found your channel today. I watched your first video about making baby things. It was refreshing to hear you say you were "with child". So I had to skip ahead to see your best make, your new son, but scrolling through I did not see him. You have so many beautiful knits from the somewhat basic design of the baby teddy bear sweater to your husband's fish sweater. I look forward to watching all t g e videos. I will probably make some of the head scarves. That style was popular when I was a child in the 1960's. My mother sewed many. The edges were covered with bias tape which ended as the strings to tie.
Yay! So good to see you again! I loved Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow- it made me sob! It’s so funny that we’re opposites on audio book. I do so much better with them because I can go on walks and really feel what’s happening while I’m walking or knitting versus I really struggle to picture the story while I’m reading. The way different brains work is so cool!
obsessed with this aesthetic 🥺💖 subscribed! (teti also has a bifurca vest version that was released before the sweater 🥰 which is quite a bit less knitting for a similar look)
Ok, this may not be your genre but the audiobook of Hannah Coulter by Wendell Berry is wonderful. She has a nice southern voice and you can feel the story. I’m like you when it come to a book in my hands as a preference. But this one I would listen to again and again.
Al-bean-ah. Woolly Mammoth has knit a lot of her patterns. I couldn't find her for the longest time by name because I couldn't say it. I loved your collection and the puff sleeves look great but I'm also a puff sleeve lover lol
I always enjoy your content but this was really fun and different. What a great idea to do a Pinterest mood board and go from there! Happy to experience anything you like to share. Love from the UK x
Love the warrior princess vibes! I’m in a similar space of inspiration because I just finished ACOTAR! Starting Throne of Glass soon. My recent aesthetic that has been calling to me is what I’m calling chicken girl- it’s a pastel, oversized garden girl aesthetic
Ahhh Sarah so jealous!! Wish I could read and experience both of those series for the first time again. SAVOR IT!! Hahaha oh my gosh honestly love the sound of that aesthetic 😂
I know what you mean about the podcasting part! I have had a video that I need to edit for the longest time and I just dont't feel the spark to complete it ... on a side note, that blouse suits you so so much and with that ribbon <3
I love every pattern you brought up in this video! I’m always in a cottage core/ fantasy look but I am in southern cali and it’s usually too warm for any cute aesthetics I adore 😂 I want to make the Vilma top too and just wear as a tank top with a tank- we shall see if I do it 😂
Knitting the second sleeve on my Bifurca right now. Love the different construction. Fit is amazingly good so far. Teti is Ukrainian so maybe that explains the storybook look. Worth the effort imo. Nice to see you again, btw.
