I’m enjoying your podcast and it’s so refreshing to have someone admit they’re a slow knitter like myself. It’s intimidating when others are sharing socks they make in a week or less.
Hi Melissa!! Thank you so much!! I agree, it is intimidating seeing how quickly others knit - I have to constantly remind myself that it's not a competition, I just need to enjoy the process and be happy with what I can do!! Take care!!😊
YES, I’d love to hear about Yarn Fiction! Love seeing your Hat FO’s and socks/cowl WIPs! I really love seeing all your yarn choices for Summer Sock Camp, really beautiful yarn! I wish I had more time to do summer sock camp; some random responsibilities cropped up so I’ve had very limited to no knitting time and I’ve still plenty knitting to go on my Free Your Fade shawl. It’s always great to see you! Enjoy all your travels and boating times! 😊
Hi Lisa!! I will do my best to put together a yarn fiction video this summer! I have quite a collection of books and enjoy reading and rereading them!! I understand about time being limited - that's how I feel during the school year. Happy Knitting on your shawl!!😊

Hi Elaine! I pray that your husband's surgery goes well today. It was sooo fun chatting with everyone in our HAT group again! I look forward to the Merry Makealong! Happy Sock Knitting!😊
Summer of shortie socks! I have not knit many lace patterned socks, but those would be good for summer. Thank you for the Memorial Day hat knitting motivation. Looking forward to doing it again!
Hi Colleen!! I loved your bright hats that you were knitting on!! I am almost done with my first shortie pair of socks for SSC! Lace on a shortie pair doesn’t seem to take forever!😃
Such a fun podcast Carla 🩷. I just pulled out all my sock WIPs yesterday for Summer Sock Camp. I mostly knit vanilla socks with the occasional Blueberry Waffle pattern thrown in. I’m excited to see how many I can complete. As far as my knitting changing with the seasons, I pretty much knit what I’m drawn to. I have a few other hobbies so I volley between them all. I’m crocheting blankets for a children’s charity in my area but there’s no time limit so I can pick up the blankets when I want to do a few rows. There’s really never enough time for it all but at least it’s all fun.
Hi Grace!! Thank you! I usually knit vanilla socks too, but for some reason, I'm drawn to all of the lace/textured socks right now. You'll have to keep me posted with how many socks you complete for SSC. Thank you for sharing about your knitting and crocheting - that's wonderful that you crochet for a children's charity! Take care!😊
Hi Carla! Thank you so much for the fun & Interesting podcasts. I love to watch while knitting. I'm planning on knitting socks this summer for Summer Sock Camp and also for Knitty Natty's Sock Week. I like The Crazy Sock Lady's Vanilla Socks (usually a shorty version for me) pattern, and I'm also planning on knitting Summer Lee's Mermaid Avenue socks this summer. I usually knit smaller and lighter projects when the weather gets warmer; I live in South Carolina and it gets mad hot here in the summer. Happy knitting!
Hi Wendy! Thank you for the kind words! I love to watch podcasts while knitting too! The Mermaid Avenue socks look like a lot of fun! I knit a pair of DK socks last year using the DK Mermaid Tail socks pattern - it was really fun! Thank you for sharing about your sock patterns and about seasonal knitting! Happy sock knitting!
👋😄❤ Your dishcloth looks lovely! OH! The SOCKS! 🤭🤣 Is because You inspired me! I sometimes stalk my friends' feed on Ravelry to see updates and favorites and I saw them from your favorites and was like ✅️ Yes!! I need those in my gift-sock knitting life! 🫂 Thanks!
Yes, please share about your yarn fiction books! Enjoyed watching this podcast today while I knit on a Pelada Towel by Two Wands. I enjoy knitting socks and dish towels during the summer months. Hope to finish my Cozy Comfort Throw by Homespun House soon as it is a Christmas present, but it may be pushed aside during the hot summer. ❤️🧶❤️
Hi Susan!! I am working on putting together information about all of the yarn fiction I've read! I've never knit a dishtowel only dishcloths. Do you enjoy using the hand knit dishtowel? The pattern looks really nice. It definitely gets warm to work on blankets in the summer, but if you can be in the air conditioning, it's doable!! I'll be hosting the Merry Makealong in July/August to work on Christmas gifts or Christmas items - works in progress are allowed. Your blanket would certainly qualify!! Thank you for sharing!😃
Carla, I love your summer yarns they are so happy! I had a lot of fun during the hat challenge and look forward to sharing my fo soon. I am going to participate in sock camp, because that is about the only time I knit socks. And last but least I absolutely would love to hear about the knitting fiction you have read. Have a great weekend!
Hi Amy! Thank you! I agree, the yarns are happy - very bright, colorful, and cheery! It was so fun chatting with all of you in the hat make along. Do you have some yarn picked out for sock camp? I would definitely like to do a yarn fiction video this summer - I enjoy reading knitting and crochet fiction a lot. Take care!!😊
I loved working with Ruby and roses yarn! I have two skeins caked up for summer sock camp. Both are Christmas colorways but the one I'm working on right now is Sugarplum so purple and blue. The July socks will be traditional red/green.
Hi Kelly! I haven't worked yet with Ruby and Roses yarn, but I am looking forward to knitting with it! Thank you for sharing your yarn pictures on Instagram - love it!! Happy Sock Knitting!😊
Hi Elizabeth! Yes, Chicken Lady does have beautiful yarn! I don't know why I haven't knit that skein up yet!! Thank you for sharing the Frances sock pattern - what a pretty texture! 😊
Just stumbled across your podcast and loved it. Darlene here from Nova Scotia, Canada. You have lovely projects. I too am taking part in Summer Sock Camp. Love making socks, especially scrappy socks. I honestly don’t have a favourite sock pattern. Currently doing Color Palette Socks which I’ve wanted to make for years and I love making those.
Hi Darlene!! Thank you so much!! I have only made one pair of scrappy socks and really loved how they turned out - I definitely should knit more! The Color Palette socks looks like a great pattern!! Happy sock knitting!!😊
Hi Dorothy! I'm glad to know of others who enjoy reading knitting/crocheting fiction like I do!! The very first series I got started on was the Betty Hechtman crochet mystery!! 😃
Hi Carla. I like all of your sock ideas and your yarn is really gorgeous. I’m not good at participating in MAL’s😮 but I like your Christmas in July idea. I knit sweaters pretty much year round and throw in other projects too. I need to make some summer sweaters, have several summer patterns…
Hi Carla. I love your Lake Michigan socks. Such a fun pattern. I will be checking it out. I’m taking part in Summer Sock Camp. I’ve just finished my first pair while away on holiday last week. I’m also knitting a summer tee so yes my knitting projects do change with the seasons. By the way I’ve just noticed you are one short of your 1k subscribers. Congratulations!
Hi Sheila!! Thank you! I really like how the Lake Michigan socks turned out. Good for you for your first finished pair of socks for SSC!! What summer tee are you working on? Thank you so much for sharing!! (And I'm really excited about being so close to 1K!!)😃
@@carlaknitspodcast3392 Hi Carla. Im working on the Tolsta Tee by Rebecca Clow. It’s a plain raglan tee that you can customise as you like. I’m doing a stripped version. I think you’ve reached you 1k subscribers! Fantastic!
