INFORMATION ABOUT OUR WOOL //
Based in a mill in the heart of England, at Woolyknit we produce a variety of quality wool yarns available in a huge range of shades. We pride ourselves on our ability to combine 200 years of age-old techniques and experience in the wool industry with our passion for sustainable, renewable fibres.
The responsibly sourced wool used in our luxurious yarn comes from sheep that roam freely on the fells and downs of the British Isles and thrive on a simple blend of grass, water, fresh air and sunshine. Every year they are sheared in the Spring months - an essential part of good farming husbandry - which helps rid them of potentially damaging infections such as blowfly strike and keeps them cool during the summer months.
To celebrate the natural qualities of our pure wool, our yarn range also includes natural undyed colours, spun using the original colours of British wool pure breeds.
At a time of increasing concern about the future of our planet and the exhaustion of its resources, it is vital that we use naturally occurring materials such as pure wool. If correctly treated, this high quality material will reward the wearer with many years of comfort - and at the end if its lifetime it is fully degradable making it an ideal sustainable and environmentally friendly product.
Care of the environment features strongly in our strategic planning and we are selective in our supplier base by choosing to work only with companies that have a sound ecological footprint.

Thank you for another great episode. Would you ever do an episode of how your knits have held up over the years. What fibers and patterns continue to look good, or what fiber/yarn would have perhaps done better with a different pattern, etc. Thank you Inga, for sharing your passion with us ❤️

Hej Inga ! I suggest you put tassells on your turmeric/oatmeal Half and half wrap. Along with blocking the weight of the tassells (make chunky ones) will weigh down the ends and elongate the shawl. If you don't have the same yarn you could use a lovely contrast colour and make a feature of them.

Your podcast was perfect for a rainy damp day here in Virginia as I am knitting, swatching, starting a new project. When I visited Greece a few years ago I purchased yarn at a tiny store I found in Crete. The yarn was from Turkey and I was surprised that so much of it was an acrylic blend. I knitted two lovelybaby blankets.

Loved this episode! I was thinking for the light green nutiden sweater, maybe you could hold only one strand with the mohair for the sleeves? Your gauge might be a bit different and the fabric a bit looser but you could adjust the number of stitches you pick up as well! It could even be a feature to have slightly more transparent sleeves!

Hi. Your Guernsey genser is beautiful and I am thinking of knitting that using unspun from Hillesvag held as-is(double) with silk mohair. You knitted yours with nutiden double with silk mohair on 4.5mm and I'm wondering if I can so the same with Forgarn. Forgarn is described as bulky and nutiden is described as lace(held double would be fingering). Do you find that to be accurate or would I need to separate the Forgarn yarn and hold with mohair?

Hi there greetings from the Northeast of the US and the small island of Block Island. I’ve been watching your podcast for about a year and look forward to each and every one! I’ve been so inspired by you and some other terrific podcasters that I’ve decided to start my own RU-vid channel. I hope you’ll check me out at The Island Lamb and I’ll continue to enjoy your podcast.
