I am extremely impressed with all the beautiful things you are making even though you have a little one!!! You don't even appear exhausted like most new mothers! Hahahaha. I think you have SUPER POWERS! 😂😉🥰❤️ (Nelli's wardrobe is absolutely beautiful.)💝
The hormons are helping :)) I can remember I asked my gyn, how I can resist so Well without sleeping😂 and her answer was: the nature took care of this❤
😂I laughed when you said you were drinking warm coffee from a travel mug “because that is my life now”. It’s been many years since my children were babies, but all parents know how our lives and actions revolve around our newborns. It’s exhausting but would not have missed it for the world.
Thank you. Your videos are an inspiration and motivation for me ❤. And little Nellie is so cute! Congratulations! From this end the pregnancy seemed like it went by so fast!
You are amazing. You accomplish so much for both you and Nelli and your acquisitions are beautiful. Love that pinky and pale yellowy gorgeous yarn both separately and combined. Wow, stunning. I hope you have a wonderful vacation.
Dear Inga! You are bringing back memories for me ! I so remember when my babies slept outside and I needed to wake them up also ! A baby sleeps so well outside!
Wow not me literally sitting here like “dang I wish I had an inga video I haven’t watched yet” and then being blessed by this lol so many cute baby knits and that yellow unspun 😍
Happy Birthday Nancy, mine was last Saturday. I’m so sorry to hear about your store . Hope you get to relax in Toronto and also congratulations on your workshop for woolstock. When you’re back at the store I will go see and get a batch set up or get ready for it .
Thank you for this podcast and the bunch of finished items. Your knitting is an inspiration to me as well. I have started doing colurwork but is is going very slowly. Take care ❤😊
My daughter always fell asleep on flights as a baby and still does. I’m always so grateful and surprised about what knitting and reading on planes I can get done with a child.
Lovely surprise to see a new episode, exciting to see you and all your new knits and wips. Nellie is one lucky little lady to have such a beautiful knitter for a Mom. Enjoy your family trip and can’t wait to see what you knit up next!!!❤❤
Nice to see you again, Inga! Regarding the colorwork sweater you're working on for yourself, the colorwork is indeev very pretty but there's one thing that came to my mind. I have knitted one garment with short rows in the neckline ribbing, the Jules genser that was published in the same book that the Amy slipover was published in, and I don't think such short rows work. They're not in the right place to do what they are supposed to do, namely, to lengthen the back between the neck and the underarm line, thus to lower the front. I've seen photos of the other sweater you were considering (which has the short rows in the neckline as well) in which there is some bunching up at the front right below the neckline ribbing and I am pretty sure this is simply because these short rows don't work. This doesn't really happen with my garment (much) but I think it is because the silk mohair on its own just falls where it wants to fall. Having this in mind, perhaps your yarn choice was the correct one after all, as I've worked with Isager's Alpaca 2 and I know it just falls down, very drapy. Holding it double plus the silk mohair plus the fact that it's colorwork would make the fabric stiffer though, so... Just something to consider when you try it on later, pay attention to what it does right below the neckline ribbing at the front. Fingers crossed it will be just right. But yeah, not a fan of such placement of the short rows at all and at this point I wouldn't make another pattern with it. Happy holiday and all the best to the whole family!
Oh so many beautiful colors! Nelli will have so many lovely knits to wear and be wrapped in love. There was a green that would make a pretty addition to the pink and 'yellow' nutiden too. I kept seeing little leaves in narrow rows. Happy Travels!
Inga! You are amazing! Love all of Nellies new garments you have knitted all absolutely gorgeous! I love all green coloured yarns your favourite you showed is a shade of yarn I like ! Wow ! Love sweater you are knitting 🧶 for yourself it’s gorgeous green and cream so beautiful! Enjoy your holiday! Warmer weather and definitely sun! Xx 🥰🧶🥰
You'll need room in your suitcase to buy yarn in Turkey and you can always start something simple while you're there! (Also, "to slay" means to kill and presumably the fish were already dead. The photo shows them cleaning the fish. Your English is so amazing that it's easy to forget that it's not your mother tongue.)
I mean what a lovely batch of beautiful baby knits❤ as we were saying the best dressed baby in town. I love the pokhara and the sea glass are just stunning. It will not be your podcast with so many Finished objects and wips. I like the eucalyptus color for the dress. I want to see what more modifications you make on the green and white sweater since I agree I don't like the neckline in the back either. I love Nellie's dress in that bright avocado color. It is beautiful 🩷
I love your podcast, and all the baby knits! Obsessed- they're so cute! Love your sweaters too. Thanks for sharing Inga! Love she naps best outside- too cute! Maybe she'd like a sound machine for her room to give her the outside feels. lol. All the best, Kimberly
Oh my goodness Nelly is growing out of her first pair of pants (brilliant, adjustable, knitted baby pants)😊. (In the US we call those push-buttons “snaps.”)
Safe and happy holiday, Inga! Fantastic and adorable projects as yours always are. Happy belated birthday to Matthias and his brocher. It looks as if you had an amazing fishing day. 🧶✨🤎
I love the pants. I wish I had thought to knit those pants for my kids when they were little. My youngest is 7 and I'm tempted to see if I can adjust the pattern to fit him. He is tall and thin.
Thanks Inga - it's fun to see you again. I'm excited you're making one of Ivana's In and Out Raglans - I am too but with fingering weight so I've put it on the back burner for a while because it's slow going. I hope I look as cool as she does in her sweaters!! Beautiful baby knits - Nellie will be the best dressed baby on vacation in Turkey!
I’m so late since work has been busy but Congratulations Inga & Matteo 🥳. So happy to hear you are doing well and little Nelli is here 😊💖. I didn’t think we would see you for a while but I’m glad to see you 😊. Ok, now I’m inspired to start back up knitting again especially if doctor, super mom & queen knitter Inga is doing it all ☺️🥰.
Thank you for sharing your lovely making with us! Nelli´s wardrobe is amazing. Also love the colour choice of your herringbone sweater. Inspiring to see how you´re integrating Nelli into your life (as in still travelling, cabin trips, spending time with extended family etc. 🙂)
Genius. I will use that idea of a marker for beginning of a repeat. Yesterday, I had to read my instructions over and over and over again while I was trying to do a crochet lace repeat. I'm still working on the project so I'm gonna put a marker this time. And I have to tell you it was just like Christmas to find out you were going to do, the In-N-Out sweater! I want to do it too. It's like my two essential RU-vid knitters came together. I'm very very excited and happy for you both. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work and ingenuity and industriousness with us all. Best wishes to you both.
How lovely to watch another wonderful podcast from you Inga! I do enjoy ALL the content and I have to add that I loved seeing you on the boat, the fish being prepared for cooking and the amazing scenery! Thank you and happy holiday in Turkey! ❤
How funny, I also made the dress-body in a light green 6 mth size for my granddaughter! I used Holst supersoft in willow 😊 Meanwhile I have made the dress version three times in a bigger size so that it will grow with the child - dress, tunic, top - and last a lot longer; I made those in Holst Coast in powder, jaffa and army and they all turned out stunning. However I cannot get a 28 st gauge on 3 mm with any yarn, let alone Holst, so I used 2.75 for the skirts, 2.25 for the bodices and 2 mm for finishing off the edges. Oh, on the jaffa dress, my granddaughter demanded sleeves so I figured out a flutter sleeve for her that turned out well.
Hi! Would you make a video showing how you catch your floats with colour work? I know there used to be many on line but haven’t found them helping much … and wonder which way you catch yours … just a quick video please …
Precious knits for Nelli. I can't wait to see the herringbone sweater; I had a wool coat with that pattern and loved it until it was threadbare! LOL! Have a wonderful holiday! 🤗
I’ve done exactly your idea for SeaGlass ‘type’ knitting. The first SeaGlass hat I did made me realise that I wasn’t a fan of knots. So I’ve since done a version of it using striped sock yarn and a plain (either white or another colour from the striped yarn). It works really well. Gives the same effect without the knots. I know that it defeats the purpose of using scraps and stash ….. but…… knots! Ugh!
So glad to see another video! The knitted quilt blanket is going to be so pretty! I have a question about caring for knitware, particularly superwash socks: How do I prevent them from wearing out? I have around 10 pairs that I keep wearing once and then washing. The oldest ones I knit about two years ago and they are wearing out on the bottom of the foot. Some have already gotten holes that I had to patch and others look like they'll get holes very soon. Is there something I could do to help them not get damaged so quickly? I have other interests besides knitting socks, but I don't want to go back to wearing mass-produced cotton socks...
Watching your videos and listening to your voice is like therapy 😍 So relaxing and enjoyable! And our knits are so gorgeous. I got all three brown shades from the last Nutiden update. I would like to try swatching for the Sitka Spruce cardigan but that is a bit above my current skill level 😁 Have fun in Turkey!
Great to see you again! Another fun and inspiring video! I finally got my fingers in some Nutiden and find it easier to work with than I thought it would be. I do wonder about how durable it is? Have fun in Turkey!
When flying, I hide my circular knitting needles in a makeup pouch with other linear things like mascara or eyeliner. The plastic part of the needle isn't seen very easily by the scanners.
The colour thyme is pronounced time, yes exactly like clock time. Thyme is a herb a herb featured in a popular old song you might have heard called scarborough fair . Simon and Garfunkel did a cover.
I think most of your sweaters will coordinate beautifully with Nelly’s Pokhara, no need to fuss with that colorwork again!! (Of course, need and want don’t really apply consistently in knitting, so they?! 😂😂😂)
Когда ты всё успеваешь? С Нелли занимается, гулять с ней. Ещё же надо для себя и Матиаса обед, ужин приготовить 🤷♀️. Вязать себе и малышке🤔 Да ещё канал вести
I think you definitely will need to gift the herringbone jumper. Such a shame. You should probably finish it so you can check! But probably definitely give it away.
Re modifications to patterns: We've had mass-manufactured clothes for less than 200 years. All clothing was custom fit. So don't hesitate or feel you are doing something wrong when changing a pattern.
Lots of gorgeous knits. Nelli is going to be well dressed 😊. Hope you have a lovely holiday. I was wondering if you try a baby sling on the plane so your hands are free to knit 🤔 xx
Dear Inga, can you help me dear? I love the fabric of your any slipover, so I purchased the pinsvinn (?) Cashmere tweed and Cashmere silk, but I do not know what needle size to use or what gauge to choose as I search patterns. Maybe you can tell me what needle size you used for your slipcover? Thank you dear!
Buongiorno cara, quan🎉ti lavori!!! Puoi darmi indicazioni per il filato rosa tipo plotulopi? Azienda ect... Inoltre qual'è il pattern del dolcevita marrone a collo diritto a coste ritorto che hai iniziato? E poi ancora ti voglio chiedere chi è Ivana?. Grazie! Auguri per la tua bambina. A presto!
The pink yarn is from honer och eir, you can find them on instagram, they usually do monthly updates, ivana is the maker behind the youtube and instagram the republic of me, the sweater is her recipe from her blog, its called the in and out raglan💕
