The WARNING sign was hilarious 😂. Not disturbing at all, actually using the whole animal is more respectful to the lovely creatures that feed us, than some hunters just wanting the head to mount. Best of luck with miss Nellie's birth. Sleep when she sleeps for a while so you can recover. When she's a toddler there will be less knitting but for now enjoy it. 😊 P.S. don't be afraid to make noise when she sleeps now it will help you in later years. That was the best advice I was ever given.

Hi Inga, Lovely podcast as usual. I bought some of that merino yarn from garnspecialisten and I experienced the stiff/hard and dry feeling of it. I hope that it will soften with washing. I knitted the pattern bergtjärn from järbo. It calls for a sport and it knitted up with gauge in the same needle size. I have just begun watching this podcast and due to time I won’t finish it today, but Inga only the beginning is so worth it! Regarding the cowl I am soooo thankful it could be stretched🙏. It will fit! An the sweater is so great and together…., amazing! But I have one question as I learnt this pattern in another way. You change the colors in the vertical rows, knit a few stitches and than pearl one, doing that in distances as you like. And at the end when the verticals are ready you embroider or crochet knitting stitches over the pearled stitches. Oh 😂😂😂😂, you are speaking about this method using it in your Christmas stocking…. YOU KNOW IT AND YOU DON‘t LIKE IT😂😂😂😂. So funny as for me it’s a horror to do color work with more than two colors. But that’s the difference between us: you are a profi! Btw the stocking is so so so so unbelievable beautiful! In our family we sew those stockings, but knitting them….🤔, I think everybody could have two🙈. Yes, why do we put so much pressure on us😬? I have really no idea. Perhaps because Christmas always come so unexpectedly fast😉. Oh an I-cord-maker…., have never heart about it. Very interesting…. You maybe see, I like your projects…. And not only your projects! The way you are doing theses podcasts, your personality…. , sorry but I really love it! Don’t tell it to anybody please, but you are my favorite! I pray that we we can enjoy you sometimes when the baby is there. Probably not as often, but pleeeeaaaase don’t stop them🙏. Okay now….enough… I am now enjoying a bit more of that podcast. Must scroll back…., missed a lot…, not possible. As it is the first January today (6 a m in the morning🙈, but today this is allowed 😉) I would like to wish you and all your loved ones and the new small human who will be here soon a very happy and healthy NEW YEAR. Maybe the prices for heating will reduce. I know what you mean, I am German…🤨. But this is not the place to write about those things! Take care and peeeaaase stay happy and the person you are. Thanks a lot for all the happiness you have given to me doing those podcasts with all those nice projects. And please excuse my not so good English🙏. …. Okay…, another half an hour…, and the rest tomorrow🤗. Looking forward so much👋

I agree with your statement about KFO merino to some extend, however when you have knitted baby/kids clothes out of it a few times, you never go back. It holds up incredibly well! It does not pill at all and it is very light weight and soft/not itchy on the skin. My son has exema, and he can wear the KFO merino directly on the skin :)

How interesting! Do you normally just boil those sheep heads or cook them some other special way? We do eat sheep heads here in Kazakhstan. The head of the family decided which member of the family or guest gets which part of the head. All these parts have meaning, but mostly they convey respect to the eaters) Have a very nice Christmas, Inga!

Merry Christmas Inga this episode was such a blessing. Thank you for sharing.🎄🤍♥️ I organized my yarn stash and supplies today, and I feel peace and calm just knowing it’s all where it needs to be when I go looking for things 🧶 I’m casting on a Tecumseh sweater for knitting during the Christmas holidays. But first I have to finish two of my 3 WIPs before I do that.😊 have you seen the stranded color work blanket (worked in the round and then steeked at the end) Rams and Yowes by Kate Davies? I feel like that could be the perfect blanket for your daughter 🤎🐑🤍

Have you seen those sweet cloud sweaters for kids? That super floofy skein would make lovely clouds on a sweater for Nelly.

I recently found a beautiful, soft, squishy merino that I'm using for child and baby knits from Laines Valgaudemar in France. Not to tempt you but maybe you would also like it. Hope you have a nice holiday and enjoy this time before your baby is here.

You should wear red more often. It really looks good on you. Why don't you unravel the bottom and wear it as a sweater?

I think id rather knit a red sweater then rip back all the hard work😅

The dress you're wearing sounds like it works perfectly in your life right now with being shapeless enough to accommodate your bump and not being too warm. But you might never be able to destash it for it reminding you of being pregnant around Christmas from now on.

I too am a selfish knitter. I don't mind (actually enjoy) knitting for others, but not on commission. I like knitting what I feel like knitting ( or occasionally crocheting) what I want when I want. I now turn down commissions.

I like that scarf. Did you do anything special et the beginning and ends of the rows? I haven’t watched in a while, your hair color looks great!

Alipped the first stitch of every row with the yarn held in front, knit the last stitch of every row

The reason why the Scandinavian languages are so Similar is because it's based on old German. When The German Language broke off into 3 parts and the Northern German went North to the Scandinavian Countries. My Grandfather who spoke Low German could understand my Swedish Family members.

About the stocking pattern - does the crochet add extra structure so that the stocking will stretch/sag less when it's full? I could see that being an intentional design feature, but it honestly sounds like such a pain I'd still skip it
@knittingtraditions
@knittingtraditions 9 месяцев назад
It probably adds abit yes! But i think il still modify it🤭

Why not just dye the finished cream/white sweater that you're thinking of making for your daughter after you've finished knitting it? I remember you collected a bunch of vegetation last year (the year before??) that you intended to use for natural dyeing -- give it a shot!
