The story that you talked about the person that had cancer, that was my daughter and they ended up taking everything out so can’t have children and she is now 36 and is doing great. She has a little Chihuahua dog. She picked the little one of the bunch and it grew up and it’s only 4 pounds and loves to wear clothes. Her name is Bindi and helped to get dressed. That is her baby for the life. She is so,so sweet. Everybody wants a dog like Bindi. Talisa, my daughter is a good mother for her. she goes everywhere she goes. Yes, you would say she’s spoiled, but that’s just OK.

Ha! I always forget the inappropriate parts of movies too! I know you are taking a break (hopefully not permanent) from designing, but I hope you write a pattern for the sweater you are wearing. I think it looks amazing. Regarding WIPs, at the beginning of the year I went through the yarn closet and documented all my WIPs. I made a spreadsheet with notes about my progress and what needs to be done to finish. I have 17 languishing WIPs, 4 items that need changes and 5 items to frog. I hung the list on the door to my knitting room and every time I go in there to pick something new I review it. So far I’ve completed 4 of the projects. I’m so close on a couple more. Lists are a good motivator and organization tool for me. I’m so happy to be making progress!

I grew up in NJ and, yes, diners are a thing. Ponzio’s was the famous one I knew and the best place to get cheesecake with whole glazed strawberries on top. Yum!

Good afternoon this nice Sunday afternoon!! I am happy with Saturday podcast. I am happy with Sunday podcast. I just always want to watch your podcast, any day!! About the center pull ball. I have done both and I either way is ok. I used to always pull from the center. I had so much trouble with having to hold my yarn and let my project hang to unwind. Changed to pulling from the outside. Same story. Still have to unwind my yarn. Do not know a solution 🤷🏻‍♀️ I put a reminder in my calendar so I do not miss the Advent Calendar. Just changed the specific details from last year’s calendar. I sure don’t want to miss it!! I am so sorry about so many things in Jamie’s story. I love her idea of the socks for her mom. I will be praying for Jamie and for her mother as they both travel a hard road. I will be praying God’s comfort for them both❣️🙏🏻 Thank you for sharing yourself and your family with us all. ~ Alison

Devin, hi from San Antonio, Texas, where the heat makes porch knitting my a knitting fantasy. Since I've heard fellow knitters classify themselves as process knitters or a project knitters, it makes me wonder if certain "unpopular knitting opinions" follow these categories. My family let me pick a yarn sock club as a Mother’s Day gift. I think I’ll make your yarn of the month my own club. I also love porch knitting but not in the summer. Heat and indoor not get a long. Thank you for another wonderful video.

I loved your “I forget the bad parts” when thinking about movies. I do too! One week after church a lady asked my late teen 😂daughters and I for a new movie recommendation. We had recently watched something I’d enjoyed and I quickly recommended it to her. In the car on the way home my daughter said she was shocked that I recommended that movie to Mrs P (the most conservative woman we knew) as that movie has parts I always fast forward through. 😬, she was right. I’d never watched those parts and forgot all about them. OOops!

Hi Devin! I just love that new baby blanket cast on you chose. It reminded me of a baby blanket that’s been in my library that I dearly want to make, Little Tern by Tin Can Knits. I don’t have a baby to make it for at the moment, but perhaps I will make it for the joy and beauty of it and put it away for my future grandchildren (hopefully!).

I taught a coworker to crochet and got her the woobles book off amazon. Cheaper than the kits if they know how to crochet already and have yarn and hooks. Its got so many fun animals to make

Roxanne Richardson (a master knitter) has a video to explain centre pull cakes and the twist in yarn (Avoiding Excess Twist as You Knit // Technique Tuesday) and I thought she pretty much cleared up the problem.

You know a crochet designer could probably come up with a pattern like your four colorwork sweater, um, you should totally challenge one to do it!😁. I had a mother who was awful and abusive so I know your pain Jamie just remembered that in the world there will be troubles and suffering but that Jesus has already concurred the world, and we don't have to fear anything, and this has kept me calmer when I think of all the implications of this. I'm sending prayers for you.

Hello from Swansea, Illinois. I just had breast cancer surgery on May 15th 2024, doing better just waiting on the final results.

For me personally, I smell better (or not at all) when I wear natural fibers. Maybe it is because of the breathability of natural fibers, or the fact that I don’t over-heat in them, and/or that synthetic fibers just hold on to my stink - but I just can’t wear acrylic, etc. because of that. I also just feel better in cotton, linen, and animal fibers. I don’t even mind wearing woolly wools - I just wear a cotton long sleeve tee under them, of varying thicknesses depending on how rustic the fibers feel. Blessings! ❤

I may be the only person who calls those snap brim hats "Ken Doll Hats" because Ken had an outfit called "Ralley Day" which included a red snap brim hat. Ok... I've just spent WAY too much time looking at Ken dolls on Etsy! 😕
