Knobcon 2019: Elektron Digitone Keys Multi-Mapping Demo 

I have zero problem with the design here. I actually like it.

Do you need your sounds in the sound pool to multimap them, or does it not matter?

can you record the drum separately to the sequencer??

Can i multimap external keyboard on classic Digitone?

With the multi mapping wouldn't it be easier to have a "single key" setting? Or to be able to select the start range by highlighting the "start range" in the menu and then pressing the key (and the same with the end of the range obviously)? Maybe even make it so when you press the new entry button you can directly input the start and end range on the keys. Quite a bit of needless button pressing now =s

Why can't you just press a key to set the limits? I don't mind the ergonomics - having your left hand above the controls isn't really any more silly than having to reach for the back of the keyboard

Can you record a multi mapped instrument to a single track? In other words can I have a kick snare and hi hat coming off of track 1?

This feature seems like it should be way easier to program than that.

The innovative sense of Elektron has gone bullocks with this product. Hopefully they find their path back on the future releases.

It should be easier than this. Why don't elektron add kits as an o/s update? You could even include a template via overbridge (gulp!) , cause this is convoluted .

Despite I love Elektrons stuff, this is nothing special to map. Look how easy it´s with ableton or any other DAW. I love Elektron´s stuff but could´t get it what´s the real new deal with this relatively expensive piece.

It still looks ridiculous. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it looked like a regular synth, with the Digitone part above the keyboard... :(

This makes me angry.... ergonomically ridiculous...elektron are so up their own arse its untrue

I’m a southpaw player and this is totally useless for me.

This thing was a flop and no videos of it online,. way too long in size, what it can do is useful but still not good on space. I would be surprised if someone replaced their 88 key midi controller for this on their desk. That was the thing about the monomachine, it was only attractive to buyers once they separated it from the long keyboard, than people wanted the box. This goes the other way in theory with everyone wanting the small digitone box and now they sell it the way no one wants it. I've never liked trying to akai mpc my keyboard,. too hard to remember what key does what. Easier with blocks and squares on a grid to remember where you put all your ideas,. the keyboard sample player is an outdated form of music making based on the samplers of the 80's. Once the midi controller and akai style hit the streets there was no turning back. No one wants to remember what key they put a sample on. They use a square grid of square buttons easily lined up and ready to remember, like the novation stuff.

Terrible design aesthetic as they have done with previous keyboards.
