Apparently from what I learned the company who made that album got sued by the WWE/F, Simitar, also made the worst computer animated Christmas special, the Christmas light, according to Phelous
Oh man...I bought Slammin Wrestling Hits in my early teen years and I started to listen to it and was like "Wait...these aren't the real themes! I'VE BEEN HOODWINKED! BAMBOOZLED!"
Fun fact: Dale Oliver, the composer of all of TNA's music alongside Serg Salinas, composed Slammin' Wrestling Hits. Also, a lot of the WOW Magazine covers were featured on another set of CDs called "Extreme Wrestling Anthems," and 1-2-3 You're Out is credited as The Extreme Wrestling Collective.
I own these knock-off CDs and thought they were legit as a kid. xD Then I discovered the internet and realized what real instruments sound like as opposed to cheap MIDI lmao.
Ironically, Mick Foley played a character called “The Boulder” on Avatar: The Last Airbender. So for all we know it COULD be him………. It probably isn’t.
Ask yourself: could my wrestler entrance theme be the backdrop for a Weather Channel local forecast segment? If you answer in the affirmative, reconsider the choice.
This isn’t a debate, he obviously says “Make Some Noise!”. It’s even the name of the song. How could you hear anything else? It’s like saying “No, The Rock has always said Do you smell what my magic cauldron is cookin”
Holy shit, I forgot all about this crap! Man, I still don't quite realize how damn popular pro wrestling was in the late 90's. So lucky to have been a kid then and totally obsessed with it all.
Sorry ZMan X-Pac's Theme song is actually called Make some Noise which is exactly what is being said at the start of the track I have listened to it so many times in the last 20 years I know I'm right.
Thank you sooo much for reviewing this! So glad I wasn't alone.. I specifically remember going to Big Lots as a kid and was like "Cool I could use these for my Action Figure League!" popped W.O.W in... 😪 I used to crank the Austin and Ministry heavy; And another burn moment for me was getting Slammin' Wrestling Hits on a birthday with a framed autographed Stone Cold picture, the ones the made photocopies of... ☔ *#ThoughtThatCountsIGuess*
I am ashamed to admit that I fell for the deceptions of both Slammin' Wrestling Hits AND World of Wrestling Rocks as a kid. In 1999, all you could do was blindly throw your money down, and suffer not only the crushing disappointment of these terrible goddamned wrestling themes, but also the sheer embarrassment of paying for an album of goddamned wrestling themes in the first place. 😢
Since I was a kid I knew they were saying "make some noise" in the beginning. I'm really curious about how anyone could miss that. I feel it's pretty clear as day lol
I once found one of those cover albums on iTunes, and there was a cover of John Cena's theme on there. It sounded like a high school marching band performed it, and the guy singing genuinely sounded like The Great Khali
Old buddy of mine bought one of these back during the height of the attitude era. Can't recall if the the WWF theme CD's where not there or what. On the way home we listened to it. Soon as that weak ass glass hit, that CD was out the window.
lol these are obviously garbage but i remember having the slammin wrestlin hits cd and i loved but only because i was a kid. me n my buddies were able to have cheap wrestling matches with cheap entrance themes to go along with it
What you said at the end is exactly what happened to me. I was at Best Buy and saw W.O.W. Wrestling Themes and knew I had to buy it. When I got home... yeah, I was ordering WWF the Music Vol 4 about 10 minutes later.
The other day I saw a 2CD called Extreme Wrestling Collective at the music store. It had an ECW knockoff cover but was basically the same as these, covers of WWF themes from the late 90's. Looked up the label for shits and giggles and was surprised to see they did distribution and reissues for some decent selling metal bands from the time instead of the usual shitty dance and DJ mixes you'd expect.
The guy on the second one sounds like the morning guy on 97.5 the Phanatic in Philly. Think his name is Anthony Gargano. Especially in the New Age Outlaws cover. Also, missed the one on the first album that was the nWo cover. It was horrendous.
Thankfully the CD store had that little kiosk where you could scan the barcode of the CD and listen to a preview of a few songs, otherwise I'd be a disappointed owner of Slammin Wrestling Tracks.
Errm in the X-Pac theme the vocalist does say make some noise at the start. That is why the track is called 'Make some Noise'. If you actually listen to the track you can clearly hear that's what's said.
Brian's face after the Mankind theme intro plus his line of "he sounded like a little weak Jewish guy at the beginning and at the end he sounds like Jonathan Davis from Korn." Is gold.
1:14-1:24.; I had all 3 of these albums that Brian Zane went over. Even as a kid, I had a feeling/knew that they were knock-offs & I just wanted to hear how horrible they were just for fun.
At the time of those CD's coming out, I got basically every WWF/E CD all the ones with themes even the Austin one of his recommended song choices then saw that first CD you reviewed and thought "Hmm, guess this can probably be similiar?" and sure enough I was the same way after hearing it, thinking WTF I still got it somewhere boxed up haha just pure shit album
