I've had the hardest week of my life in years...and I fell behind by two days in your videos. Then today, I was catching up, and I hear "Hey, you all" and it made me so happy and really picked me up! THANNK YOU, JACOB for all you do for us! I LOVE your channel!
35:11 The only one of these in the world which is why it got a LOT of press when it was built. Knoebels spent several years designing and perfecting this century old type of coaster while making sure it was up to modern codes. They pulled off something few other parks would even think about resurrecting. Only thing similar would be the steel versions that popped up in the 80s (Kings Dominion still has theirs I believe). Back in the golden age of parks there were 7 or 8 wooden Flying Turns coasters in the US (full list on rcdb), the largest example I can think of was at Cleveland's Euclid Beach (torn down in 1969 with the other coasters when that park sadly closed and was replaced by a state park and apartments).
Cedar Point used to have a Bob Sled ride where the GateKeeper currently is located. Sometime in the 90's it was put indoors and named Disaster Transport. It was horrible when they put it indoors because there was no air conditioning and was terribly hot in the summer. Thanks for the video Jacob.
My hubby is a big tall boy who needs 3XLT shirts so it's really hard to buy him gift shop shirts too. Not fair but so glad you found the shirt you wanted So very great...enjoyed your video again ..keep them coming because we sure enjoy them ❤
Jacob, the Flying Horses Carousel in Watch Hill RI has a brass ring dispenser, so feel free to add this to the list. I think that the Looff Carousel in Riverside RI has one too. Great seeing Dark Ride Dracula giving The House Of Horrors at Rocky Point Park in Rhode Island some love! That’s my favorite dark ride ever! Something tells me The Looper might be THE ROCK N’ ROLL from Rocky Point and also that Viking at The Sploosh, which used to be at The House of Horrors!
i have been there many times...we are about 1 hour away,,,,,going to knobels since i was 4..i am 58 now...best park ever,,,good food and happy times😊💜💚🧡🌺☘🌼🏵💐🍞🍔🥨🍓🍧🍦⛲🎠🚂

Hi Jacob loved the video today again intetesting & so much fun to watch! You have some great amusement parks over in the USA! Seeing & hearing you on the bobsleigh ride made my weekend! So so funny. From one cat lover to another Jacob thank you & cant wait to see where you go to next. Greetings from England 01/072023. Carol 😹❤️🥰
I really enjoy your dark ride and haunt videos. Knobels dark ride does seem like the ones I remember from the 70's. Thanks for turning me on to Dark Ride Dracula's channel. Now I can binge watch a bunch of dark ride videos. Happy 4th o f July, CB.
My second favorite theme park ever!!! I’m glad I live in PA and can go to Knoebels a few times a year. Went the second week it was open this year for the HM 50th, and wish I got there for the party, but missed it. Thank you so much for helping to share the Knoebels love ❤️❤️❤️
👍Great 50th anniversary vlog but you forgot to tell us about your thoughts on Flying Turns. Did you enjoy it? Was it too intense? Would you ride it again? And one other thing it is inappropriate to be apologizing for smashing into people on the Bumper Cars. 😅
AWESOME video as always and it was great to meet you! Thanks for showcasing all the classic dark rides across the country and hopefully it brings more attention to them so future generations will have them to enjoy the same way we do! =)
Great job Jacob! Wish I could have been at yesterday’s anniversary celebration. I feel honored to have been the producer for our DVD documentary about the Haunted Mansion in 2008. It was named the Haunted House at that time, and the skull room was where the current upside down room is now. Felt like I lived inside that ride for a week! So glad the ride is still going strong. May it operate for another 50-plus!
I think it been 17 years now since my husband and I were there. We need to plan a trip up there were only a few hours away. Thanks for sharing this wonderful place with us. I do remember doing the water ride with my niece and yes it was wet.
Looks like such a fun amusement park!!! Too bad it's so far away from where we live. More amusement parks should be like this one with great rides and delicious food. The only thing I wish they had is trams taking you from the parking lot to the front of the amusement park. Thanks for sharing this. The dark rides were awesome!!!
Hi Jacob a really lovely day...!!! so much fun seeing all your fun and good times... I really love all your gifts and merchandise I love so much your love and passion for your fav rides.... Take good care of yourself... Your friend, Fan, And major BAGGER Marie xxxxx
I REALLY want one of those Haunted Mansion mini building blocks sets! Hopefully they will be available online once released, since I wont be getting out there any time soon!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have traveled to that part of Pennsylvania and Mt. Carmel but never heard of this amusement park. The bobsled ride looked awesome fun. The water ride was pretty sweet. I love getting so wet. The haunted mansion looked pretty cool as well. Thank you again.
Yay! You made it for the 50th Birthday celebration of The Haunted Mansion. 👻 That guest panel was amazing to see. Every time I go to Knoebels the Flying Turns is closed. Thanks for video taping while you rode it. Great video!❤
I can't wait to fly to this great park! So much good food, attention to detail. The haunted mansion of wonder ride was ok, but the black mine one I liked better I think..
That was awesome to see the Haunted Mansion again! I remember the floating skulls many years ago (I think it used to be on the first floor) so great to see those back again.
I love the old school dark rides. I have a dream of building one in my backyard some day. The Haunted Mansion at Knoebels is so good. It definitely is a ride that you have to get on more than once per trip just to be able to see everything. There is so much going on inside of it.
My parents and I want to go to Knoebels so bad. My brother Austin has been there before. Happy 50th Anniversary to the Haunted Mansion ride! Hope you have a great day Jacob! 😊
HEY JACOB! Long time fan here and finally back watching your videos after a while. My Dad and I used to love & enjoy watching your videos back when he was alive. But here I am back since then!
We love this because we are Old School, Old Fashion folks! Knoebels has been giving folks what they love since 1926! Give folks what they love and they will come ......come back again and again. Thanks Jacob for sharing this delightful treat and ALL you best work!
Hey, it's Rick Davis! DAFE has been friends with the Ohio Haunters Association since OHA was just beginning. Glad to see a familiar face in your videos!
Two random thoughts while watching: -love any time the trimpers haunted house is mentioned -speaking of carousels, I’m sure you know about trimpers and how old it is. Did you know it is all allegedly also haunted? There is a specific horse, white with very princes looking accents (light blues, pinks, roses) that is supposedly haunted by a woman in white. She had a relation to the Trimper family that I cannot remember anymore.
I was up there on vacation and was supposed to go there all last week, but it rained for six days straight. Now I missed a trip to Knoebels, a ride on the haunted mansion during it's 50th anniversary, and a chance to meet you...
Thought for sure you were going to break a finger grabbing for the brass ring lol Looks like a great place for families. Fun video as always! Thanks Jacob :)
You are certainly not letting any grass grow under your feet if your up there! I am glad though because so many of these places I've never been and possibly never will be unless things change in coming days! Thanks and enjoy my friend.
Love the videos. I adore you your so fun to watch. Miss the videos when you don’t post for a couple days. Glad your back with a new one today. Much love from Athens Ohio
Does anyone know if this video was filmed Friday or Saturday? I know it was uploaded Saturday. My wife and I just got back from Knoebels for the first time ever after being there Saturday and Sunday. My wife said riding Flying Turns was on her bucket list. I loved snagging all the rings on the Merry Go Round.
FYI.. They just opened an interactive dinosaur exhibit in Las Vegas. It's in Ballys/Horseshoe hotel right next to the twilight zone minigolf. Would love to see you check it out.
Hey I know you probably won’t see this but at 46:01 I was in your video 😁. I am the kid in the orange hat. Also I sat behind you on Black Diamond. Super cool seeing you there man.
Knobels is the best place on earth and the haunted mansion is a big part of why. I can remember going on this in the mid 80s, and its about 90% exactly the same. In fact most of my memory of knobels remains. I heard a story of when the Phoenix was put in the current owner hired a financial firm to advise them on what the price per ride should be and they suggested a $3 fare. The knobels staff politely disagreed and charged $1 for a long time. Who does that???
You were here at Knoebels near me just last month! Wish I had known because I would have loved to meet you. Your videos of different parks and attractions are a joy to watch! They have taken me to places I might not get to see for myself. Hope you return to Knoebels again. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
I have been here given that I live in this state but when I go there I get A wristband that allows me to go on the rides without tickets though when I took my sisters step daughter on the haunted mansion ride I had to use tickets but if you really want A wet ride go to hersheypark`s tidal force they have markers on the pavement far from the point of impact saying "you will get wet" but if I had to pick between the two parks knobels all the way I have A love for the 1950`s style county fair rides with my favouites being: the black diamond looper super round up the pheonix (like the only roller coaster I rode that is designed to almost throw you off the ride) flying turns impulse antique cars (better and longer than the one at hershey park) cosmotron downdraft giant wheel satellite scenic skyway (better and longer than the one at hershey park and takes you up A mountain than over A river/creek) whipper
Second comment for this video...sorry...but I want to say I love how much Knoebel's celebrates their history. I just LOVE how that makes you feel like you are now part of their history and another visitor making fun memories at such a fantastic place!
