I ordered both your hair growth products, I can't wait for them to come! And nooooow, I'm thinking knotted locs might be where I'm headed 🤔 idc about a grid and when I was traditionally loc'd, I only got it redone every 3 months. I jave relocated from Chicago to Austin to Fairbanks, AK and now Japan with sisterlocs and youre right, everywhere ive been, i had to search for a loctition. Alaska was hell on my hair due to climate AND not having a loctition who knew sisterlocks! Thank you so much for introducing this "new" process to me/us! Excited to see how your products help me! I’ve had my SisterLocs in 17 months now, but I have never been under the misconception that I had or wanted to become enslaved to the grid or the restricted retie schedule. I feel like these concepts were put in place to create longevity and sustainability of the SisterLocks brand and to sell locticians on the ability for a sustainable business model. Personally, I couldn’t careless about either of these concepts since they don’t apply to me. Currently, my hair is not all the way locked. But I have put 2 knots in one loc that was thinning. I felt like it was heading toward breaking because the hair was too soft and straight and just would not stay in the loc. So I didn’t have anything to lose by knotting it. But by knotting it I was able to tie or knot the loose hair into the loc. This loc has now thicken (From July to October) and no longer feels like it is going to break off. My plan is to see how this test loc looks and grows along with the rest of my hair until they are all fully locked. And then I’ll decide if I want to knot the rest of my hair.

Thank you so much for your excellent videos! One I watched was nine months ago and the other nine days ago both videos had excellent information! One thing that you said really resonated with me! You said we sometimes can come from a place of fear instead of a positive learning and challenging perspective. I always choose to do the latter. Another thing you said if we try the knotted loc’s and don’t like it there’s no problem with going back to interlocking or instant locking. I have now chosen to take a positive perspective and knot my loc’s! My hair seems to grow at an accelerated rate of 1 to 2 inches a month. I have read the average growth rate is half an inch a month. I am 68 years old and I take vitamins and mineral supplements as well, this may also contribute to my accelerated hair growth. I’m just starting now but my plan is to knot my roots every 3 months which is the same period of time that I would instant or crochet my new growth. My hair grows outside of the loc that’s why I instant or crochet lock the new growth. I am looking forward to this new method of maintaining my new growth with the hope that it will be a speedier process. I have 300 x 1/8” diameter x 30” micro instant/ crocheted self-maintained loc’s that I keep trimmed at waist length which I find is easiest for me to manage day to day. I will try to keep a record of the time it takes for me to complete the “knotted loc” process and give you an update. Thank you again for your videos and words of wisdom!🎉

Hi Tunisia! Been a while since I’ve reached out … but baby when I tell I was taught by Melissa 3 years ago this month, knotted myself and spoke about it to other loctitions and got discouraged and gave up! Saw you were now onboard with the knots and by Melissa and had to get back in touch with her for a refresher and am now back to knotting hence forward! ❤ love both of you and glad to be back to knotting 😊

I am loving the innovation and creativity in the Natural Hair Community. I am feeling that buzz i felt that caused me to go to the barbershop in 2001 and cut my relaxed ends off after being inspired by T'ykeyah Crystal Keymah's book Natural Woman Natural Hair. No Lye by Tulani Kinard and Plaied Glory by Lonnice Bonner. I was seeking for a method to maintain my hair without chemicals or heat and I received my answer. After 23 years natural and several loc experiments that never were fully realized for me, i began to ask again. Is there away to maintain my natural hair without the constant detangling, styling/labor and i installed my mini braids. I started seeing out how to maintain my hair knowing that i didn't want to retwist or interlock, knowing I didn't want to be dependent on a shop, a product or a tool when suddenly I had the inkling that i should knot my roots. I came to RU-vid for inspiration to see if anyone else was doing this when bame I found Knotted Locs videos Melissa Blakes videos. Though was never a sister loc person I watched your videos Tunisa and have always been educated and inspired by your information. Low and Behold you are knotting your hair as well. So happy to have received an abundance of confirmations. So excited for this journey. Seek and Ye Shall Find, Ask and You Shall Receive. Knock and the Door Shall be Opened ❤❤❤

Hi Tunisia, thanks so much for this video. I have reached out to Melissa to schedule a training. I am all for taking control of over my hair life and can't wait to begin the knotted locs journey. I am using the magical hair growth serum along with the hair follicle roll on and I am seeing results. I have hair that's sprouting out all over at the crown and my hairline where I have the most issues, and I am going to create knotted locs there once I learn how to do them. Will the knots add weight to the loc that would cause the loc to break? Sista locs has thinned my hair from being retightening ive had them 4 years and I am now not getting retightening any longer. I Thank God for you and your serum im at least feeling in control. This is the last result before cutting the locs off. But it seems the knots would add weight to weak hair.
