1) It depends on the requirements of customer... Some compressors have 4 stages also.. 2) Either your compressor valve is defective.(change it) Either your safety valve is defective. (overhaul it). Either the outlet valve may b stuck pr partially opened(chk the valve)

@@mec6953 sir thanks for your query... Bumping clearance can be taken by the way you said only.. Apart from that Maker's recently recommend to take Bumping clearance for the first stage of tandem piston vth the help of depth gauge. Hope this reply will satisfy your query

bursting disc is a copper disc which will be in air cooler..in case cooler tube leaks and if there is a increse in pressure the bursting disc will burst and release the pressure....bursting disc should be changed once it got burst. Relief valve is placed in each stage and this relief valve will be lifted if there is any increase in set pressure. Hope this reply will satisfy your query..

What will happen if I place relief valve in place of bursting disc?.

Bursting disc has more advantage as it will burst and release the pressure instantly... But relief valve may get into failure of it is not maintained periodically. Procedure for depressurising an air bottle : * Ensure standby air bottle is pressurised. * Close the filling valve of standby air bottle which we need to depressurise. * Close the outlet valve for Main Engine and generator. * Open the drain valve slowly. * Ensure the air bottle pressure is dropping. * Once the air bottle pressure comes to zero, you can open the inspection man hole cover slowly and follow the inspecting procedures. Condensate drain is nothing but the water which is mixed with air for to moisture... And you can find it in outlet of air cooler and it can be drained frequently using auto drain which is opened while compressor is on operation.
