Nice Video. That Cover 2 side really intrigues me from an offensive standpoint. It seems like some offenses can attack it all day. It looks like they can easily flood the safety with vertical routes creating a 2v1. Then if that flat corner starts playing farther back to counter the offense's 2 vs 1 against the safety then they can attack the flat. Also it would be fun to hear your perspective on how Quarterbacks read open areas of grass instead of coverages in the Air Raid. I remember in a past video you said something about Mike Leach talking to you about the principles of that system.

Teams generally run it to the short side (boundary) Less space for that safety to defend. The field safety takes anything vertical and corner generally plays hard flat.

Lots of teams will play Cov 5 and not Cov 2. I got Cov 5 from TCU. The CB plays the out or 1 or 2. If both are vertical then CB plays #1 and Safety #2. This is a good answer for just the problem you describe. it has worked well for us for many years. For the 21P look at 3;36 I'd not play Cov 5. I'd drop the FS down into the box, he is the flat player and the CB plays post/bomb of #1. The Air Raid is a progression system. Visualize Mesh. The progression is F, Y, H , and then Z running a curl. So if the F is open he gets the ball every time. The receivers and QB read middle of the field open or closed. Not too complicated. As you said, run to the grass.

Hey there man your shit is hands down the shit! It I have a question. I’m new to college football and I’m confused on how coaches “create” football plays. Like they give “names or colors” and that’s how they say the play. Is there way you could make this confusingness somewhat easier? Much respect -Andrew

Wish I could but each offense is it’s own language. They all use very similar concepts but name them differently for code or disguise. These should help you. Would it work if you put the will in a spy? And only rush 3 or would that be something else entirely?

By a spy I Assume you mean drop him in coverage. You could bump underneath coverage and essentially create a cover 6 - 5 under. Might weaken run support if Sam is flying out. Would make underneath routes tougher to complete but QB would have more time to make decisions. Always give and take.

Who are some other great QBs in your opinion?

There’s a lot of them. I loved Elway, Montana, Bartkowski, then more recent Favre, Rodgers, Brady, Mahomes. Too many to name them all.
