Quick question...are there any resources that can help with cut-ups? I had a coach who would give us packet each week containing a breakdown of our opponents, and it would give us percentages on 3rd and down for defense, 1st and down for offense, etc.
I run an unbalanced line single wing and we have 2x2 and 3x1 formation. My question is this, do you think this would work at the middle school level or is this too much for my inexperience QB?
I came in the latter part of that season and you Are absolutely correct on everything except one thing. There was a lot of talent there but with no leadership, was an impossible task! I also played in Albany and you are spot on with the culture there! Coach Buff created that along with coach Hoensee and coach Daily! Three great coaches!
I remember my defensive line coach in high school, here in West Tennessee, had been a starting lineman for Ole Miss in the late 80's. He played with and against alot of guys, who a little later, went on to become some of the biggest names in the NFL. He was a huge and powerful dude, and I remember him telling us one day, at a break in practice, that the transition from high school to college was unbelievable. He said everyone was 10 times bigger, stronger and faster than the biggest, strongest and fastest players in high school.
How do you prevent the lineman from getting his hands on you first? Most lineman i face have much longer arms and therefore more reach, making it so they are able to touch me before i can get my hands on their chest and shoulder
Progressions is like hand holding vs dropping back and having the ability to see the full field and make the right read too many times in progressions they miss ppl wide open
It’s not a kill-shot for the back-side of the safety rotating away if the flood technique is taught and executed properly. That entails vision opposite the hips and movement and, at the very least, a back-side awareness by the rotational safety. In fact, we get big plays by having the QB believe the vertical opposite the rotation is a clean throw and target. As in ALL defenses; each has a weakness or, in essence, a weaker element to it in competition to its strengths.
I did not expect to read "New Zealand" when I came to this vid haha. Wow, mate, anytime you're back down here, please link up, im a football coach down here. Could run a clinic for some local coaches, talk recruting links for some talent we have here etc? Choice vid by the way, love the Air Raid, and Coach Leach RIP! Go well
As soon as that RB motions this is a Quads adjust. Depends on how you want to defend that. I love the "Unstoppable" plays. If beats them all, why run anything else? Having said that, this play is a bitch and would get lots of attention during the week.
Players have Spring and Summer OTA's to learn Concepts and Plays. Then Camps and Fall Camp. Individual Room Meetings. White Board Work. Packets for notebooks. PAWLAWSKI play/concept videos. Pre-Practice on the field work. Individual Period. 7/7 Skelly Period. 9/7 Inside Hole Period. WR/DB 1/1 Period. TEAM Period. Special Periods. I have coached in a very competitive high school program in Colorado and we have had tremendous SUCCESS with 75-107 plays on a Game Day Play Script!
Coach. I coach 13 & 14 yr olds on a spring flag football team. They also all play on the same tackle team for school in the fall. When they come out & everything goes well they are great, but, as soon as the other team has success, many of them fall apart mentally. We were tied at 7-7 and you would've thought we were down by 40. How do you address that & actually change that? Is there a way? Should I also talk to parents?
I'm not expert but an idea is to get some first downs and build some momentum and then pep talk them on the positive saying see I knew you could do it.
Can you give any tips how to feel less nervous while telling the play to the huddle for some reason I get nervous here but in actual play I’m good and execute it. Thanks in advance
I understand this is an old video but its a bit misinformed You don't want to get the wax "off" the football, but rather brush it into the ball. After brushing it in it'll work in conjunction with conditioners and mud to provide tack and softness to the leather WITHOUT drying it out, which is what water/plain shaving cream will do to a ball. It isnt "packing stuff" or "preservative" but a tanned in tack that is infused into the leather to help with grip.
