In this video, I head to the Scottish Highlands for the Beyond the Ultimate Highland Ultra 2023. The Highland Ultra is an incredible 3-day, 125km event that starts and finishes at the picturesque Inverie on the Knoydart Peninsula. It's not just a race; it's a journey through some of the most breathtaking landscapes Scotland has to offer. This is a behind the scenes account of my time there on the event team, tent pitching, course sweeping and soaking in the stunning surroundings.

What a great area to stage such a race. There’s something magical about it being on the mainland but only accessible via a ferry. Great job with the filming and congratulations on your career change 👍🏻

Thanks for watching Jon. It really is a beautiful place, I love the fact that it's cut off and not easy to access. Hopefully the government won't go ahead with the diesel powered mobile phone masts on the hill side

Fantastic video Dean, such a beautiful location for a race, would love to attempt something like this in the future. Found myself just smiling to myself a lot in this video, super happy for you, if anyone deserves this from all the hard work over the years its you. Im also partial to the Toyota, my fave movie car in those 80/ early 90s was the red (nearly alway red) Toyota pick up trucks, so cool. Here was me thinking you walked all around the course picking flags, when in reality you were leaning out the car door 😂😉 Thanks for sharing this epic adventure Atb Mark

Thanks for watching Mark, you'd love the Highland Ultra. With all the running and then camping you've been doing this would be a breeze 😂 Black Toyota Hilux from Back to the Future for me, I'd prefer the Delorean though. I wasn't being lazy, I was just conserving energy for the days ahead haha 😂

This is great thanks Dean - I did the Cape Wrath trail this May and it brings back wonderful memories. Im also lucky enough to be doing the TGO challenge next year starting from Mallaig/Inverie so its a good look see on what to expect... basically you walked my first day!

Thanks for watching, it was a great couple of weeks. I really enjoyed it. The new and improved Old Forge pub is looking good inside, can't wait to go in there for a drink when we return... Not that there was anything wrong with the 'table' :-)
