Because he was directed to give that performance. The reason this knuckles is funny is because he as a stoic and completely seriously written and performed character clashes with the vibrant and colorful characters who exist in a zanier reality. Knuckles is the straight man who looks at this crazy reality from the outside.

To me it seemed like you were praising the voice acting exclusively, as if it was entirely Idris Elba’s decision and not a writing and directing decision.

A.K.A "The Hero's Journey." Also, basis is only a noun, while "bases" has many definitions, grammar designations, and even serves as the plural for basis (bases [commonly pronounced "bay-SEES"]). The fact that he’s voiced by Idris Elba is really epic. He just made the character so likable. I really love what they did with knuckles in this movie. Let’s just hope he stays in the third movie. It be a very interesting dynamic between him and shadow. These movies are fun. 💙💛🧡❤️

My favorite thing about Movie Knuckles is that he has a smooth voice, stands for the ways of the Echidna, and could destroy a truck with just his fist, then out of all things his favorite food is grapes.
Movie Knuckles is more of modern portrayal of Knuckles in the early games. Grapes were also his favorite food in the games it just wasn’t explicitly mentioned as much
Ben Schwartz, Coleen O’Shaugnesssy and Idris Elba could not have been better cast. I cannot wait until they cast Shadow. Whoever it is, am sure they will nail it too.
I remember being so hesitant and laughing my ass off when Idris Elba was announced as Knuckles and yet now he’s easily one of the best parts of the entire Sonic franchise 😂

I love how they did knuckles in this movie. Since he has been fighting since he was born he knows basically nothing about social interaction, and he’s not some complete moron. he’s smart on the battle field and smarter in a fight. However, not so smart when it comes to social cues or jokes
I seriously can’t wait for the knuckles show although I’m not sure why they decided to have him sorter with wade but knuckles is definitely gonna have us fall in love with the show and who knows maybe wade will evolve
