I believe metal sonic was portrayed far better here than in CD, here he will chase you all throughout the game (if you wait for a minute he blasts you), and that pose on the level select machine, its giving me some terminator vibes.
I wish Metal Sonic had a random chance to appear even when the player's not standing still. But make it very rare, to the point where it happens only once or twice per save file.
Wait no longer, because of an accidental update for PS4's in the UK, we found out many things we weren't supposed to find out until Sonic Mania Plus comes out, and Metal Sonic Kai is coming back in it.
Fun Fact: The big red machine is NOT Metal Sonic Kai. Metal Sonic Kai is actually just the "normal" Metal Sonic. The game isn't clear if the red machine is just a completely different robot or Metal Sonic powered up. 2022 Edit: Metal Sonic Kai is indeed the name of the final boss, as confirmed by the 2021 sonic book I forgot the name of.
Varia studios You would have to do retcon to make it work. If this red sonic was a prototype Metallic madness, then that mean it takes place before Sonic Heroes. The problem is the ages. Charmy's 16 in this game, but 6 in Sonic Heroes.
Such a good game this!! The music was epic, the levels were pretty as heck and the special stages were tough and fun. This game scared the crappola out of me though when I was a young teenager though, gave me all the feels.

But please just leave Sega and sonic team alone because one day they will go bankrupt' and it will be the last time we will ever get another official sonic game.

Might has always been one of my fav sonic characters specifically because of this game. Prior to Sonic Mania very few people unless they played Knuckles Chaotix, SegaSonic the Hedgehog, or read the Archie Comics
This boss... No, this whole game just felt unfinished compared to other Sonic entries during this generation. While he looks imposing, Metal Sonic really doesn't make an effort to actually hurt the player. Especially during that final phase when he shoots the laser over your head rather than right at you. They could have made you have to dodge it by climbing the walls or something? Overall, a very bland and forgettable game.
The game pretty much is unfinished. They were on serious time constraints, since Sega had just revived a cancelled Genesis Sonic game to release something quickly on the 32X. The final boss has unused graphics that would have given it some more attacks, like shooting fire out of its wrists
Honestly, this battle felt very rushed. Cause all you see is metal falling next to robotnik, and then he takes him, and boom. You are thrown to the battleground with no context. Also, KAI's animations feel, lifeless.
Why was this not the metal sonic design they chose for sonic forces? Standard metal sonic can be rebuilt an Infinite (pun entirely intended) amount of times, so why would the phantom ruby not choose one of his stronger forms?
If you played it and you like it then like it if you never played it and like it then you just like the idea of the game and some cool Designs the gameplay and how it plays is complete bullshit
Huh, so this is where a few of the sonic mania noises came from, part of the metal sonic fight, and when mania plus is released, part of metal sonic kai for the final part of the metal sonic fight
You can tell this game was rushed out the ass with that disappointing ending. Honestly I can't fully blame them since this game was in a long development phase (look up Sonic Crackers) but they should've done SOMETHING other than a "COOOOL" tag at the end of this long ass game.
