the issue with loose binding is also an issue with the magnetic forces between the wires themselves - so they'll vibrate even 'on the bench'. also inductance needs to be measured with the rotor in place -as it impacts the inductance reading (particularly for IPM) and varys on rotor position.
Yes, thanks for pointing out magnetic vibration. I knew about this and forgot. Inductance, I did that for the QS165 motors and the values came out the same. Taken apart or assembled the inductance was not significantly different.
@@de-bodgery it depends on the motor, but also on the rotor position (between its 'low' energy points where the magnets force it to settle should be higher)
@@de-bodgery I really wanted it to be good; It's the one thing I was looking forward to from KO that might be able to bring these bikes to the next level. I see the strengths, and small improvements, but at 1400$ for some ehh cast machining and anodizing.... I rather the motor look stock but actually hold upto power all day; Anyways Peace n love
@@lahoozer6694 It's a pretty strong motor. However, as you can see quality is lacking where you can't see it! Kind of sad! I deliberately delayed taking apart the motor so I'd be level headed and not still feeling annoyed at the shit show the Rush is! And here it is...typical dismal quality control from KO! If you watched my issue mitigation video on this motor, then I'd LOVE to have KO improve and shut me up!!! $1400 and a split armature, cheap Chinese bearings, poor phase wire binding, etc...yeah...disappointing despite it being a decently strong motor! Ironically Jay Okumura and Ian Hastie claim I sabotaged the motor just to make KO look bad. What idiots! WHY would I EVER do that?
@@de-bodgery Lmao. Whats more believable, Their QC sucks a$$ just like their controller w/ the shit solder holey buss' or that you sabotaged them... Pathetic of them; more motivation to NEVER buy KO garbage, What do YOU have to gain from it? nothing..... IMO; KO should thank you for the QC investigation and IMPROVE their products; probably even pay you lmao. Still won't buy from them Just watched surronster (rarely watch him anymore, his ego/attitude) rip out his KO garbage and chuck the controller to the concrete :) he gained just a littleeeee respect from me; and he seemed to muster abit of humility. Good for him;
My desire is to educate and show off products for why they are good or bad. I don't care who makes them, just show why something is good or bad so that people that don't have my experience or access to things can make good choices for themselves.
@@ThePathfinders0369 I've been doing tear downs for several years. Back in December 2022 it took off and now I do them all the time. It used to be that I'd do a tear down every few weeks or once a month and now it's multiples a week!
That is my opinion too! I pay $1400 for a motor, it had better be perfect!!! Every attention to detail spent to make it perfect and top notch!!! And this motor is NOT any of those things.
It's not a total turd for sure. It needs some attention to details like I show in the tear downs for it and in what I do to resolve them. I doubt I'll ever do a simulation for this motor. Just getting them is astronomically over priced! The EBMX motor will cost less and be more powerful. There's another option coming this fall that will be from a German team and will also cost less that the FSPEC motor and will be more powerful. It will also have no short cuts anywhere in it. Those guys attention to detail is VERY GOOD! I don't know if it will be more powerful than the EBMX motor, but I'm sure they won't release it without knowing every thing is the best they can make it! KO Moto blabs and brags about this and then never does anything close! The FSPEC motor you see in my videos is PROOF that they suck at the details and in doing a good job! Their controllers are PROOF of this!!! I'm betting I could buy 5 more each of Rush, FSPEC and Pro controllers and find the exact same shoddy work in them too! Same for the FPSEC motor. My level of confidence in KO Moto is VERY LOW. Sure they work, but quality control is dismal and build quality where you need it is horrible!
@@de-bodgery can you name the German company that is manufacturing the motors or it's still a trade secret? I'd love to see something nicely built once in a while :)
