I noticed alot of pressure being applied to the Rigid and several times you stopped with the kobalt just to turn it around which seemed pointless. Not hating on the video. It just seemed a little biased but idk you or your preferences so I cant say that for certain but I did enjoy the video and the fact that you showed your excitement without yelling lol. Keep them coming!!
I bought a Kobalt 24 volt kit - saw, drill, impact driver, 2 batteries, light and carry bag for $220 Canadian dollars including tax. For the money, Kobalt can't be beat. It's even cheaper than Rigid and nearly or equally good.
*This was a really good deal for **MyBest.Tools** and adding in another drill driver is great. Arrived the next day after the order was placed. Happy with the purchase and love using Dewalt.*
The Ridged looks awesome in this test. I just got the XTR impact wrench and now have all the XTR tools. When I upgraded to the Kobalts it was Ridged next on my list. With financial situations the way they are it was great to see all the tool deals since before black Friday. I have some Dewalt corded tools that I'll keep but I gave all my older cordless Dewalts to my son he is a beginner on a framing crew. Also Lowe's is only a drive across a bridge from my house and Home Depot is around 30 miles one way. Personally I don't need to own the big brand tools anymore and both Kobalt and Ridged have tools that are in the same ballpark as your Milwaukee, Dewalt, Mikita, etc. at a better value when you're pinching pennies. So what if a Milwaukee driver or wrench can bottom out a lag bolt 0.7 second faster than a Kobalt or Ridged or 1.1 second faster than a Ryobi or craftsman tool if you're not on the job anymore. I took advantage of the get one free deals on the Kobalt fast charger and 2 4.0A battery kits and built up my battery supply and got some free tools. I also considered getting the Milwaukee m12 fuel line because of the compact size and power that they have but so far I'm very satisfied with the Kobalts and I also like the blue and black on the XTR tools.
@@eddiemelendez4445 I don't know. I have every Kobalt XTR tool and some regular Kobalt tools. I never tried the Ridged. I don't need anything better than that.
Loved the side by side comparison where you were running both .... I've got the kobalt with th 4.0 high output and I've not had anything NOT break loose using it... I think I paid 180 for the kit vs. the 200 you said in the video.. and remember.. if you're a veteran at lowes you can get a 10% off every purchase... which aint peanuts when you're talking 200 dollars..
I think that most people are concerned with nut busting torque on a 1/2" impact wrench as opposed to speed of driving/drilling. Why spend so much time on testing their driving and no real time on nut busting?
Yeah I do most of those test because you guys ask for it. If you watch my Milwaukee and Ridgid High torque impact wrench video, I go to the juck yard and and bust loose lots of random bolts. I had fun filming it, but people didnt respond to it well. so i don't know ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JofrYCG6zKk.html
You may want to watch the Torque Channel tests on the Kobalt XTR. Your test is highly subjective. I'll wait till the Project Farm test on cordless impact wrench.
Nope it was around $190 bucks and took like 3 weeks, but now with all the shit on back order and the restrictions it might take up to 6 months to get anything over sees.
Interesting. For Hammer drill, impact driver, and circular saw tests I've seen, the XTR line looked quite impressive. Here, it looks less so. Depends on which tools are most important for the end user
Yes that is very true, I feel out of all the high torque impact wrenches the new Ridgid and the Kobalt XTR are the most impressive, both with out do the Milwaukee. thanks for watching
There is a reason it's called xtr. You need the high output. And they make a 8 amp hour version that helps level the playing field. Any batteries will cut out if you're asking for more power than it can give not to mention you're heating it up drawing so much current. Only use high output batteries for heavy duty tasks . Don't want to overheat the tool with a crap battery that can't deliver.
@@walterbwd OK so after seeing this yesterday, I was checking around and BOOM the box of packages was in my wife's trunk!!! I'm so sorry man I am off work tomorrow and will get it right out. She has Prego brain, she is 22 weeks pregnant and very forget full, I totally thought she had dropped everything off. And no I would never fake that whats the point? to loose subscribers lol
Mine did best with the 3.0ah, but my 6.0 is couple years old, so that does make a difference. Thanks for watching. and I am petty sure the 9.0 is the old 18650, and the 30 is 21700 cells.
man, that ridgid is a beast, but man, I still can't believe you did this head to head, which it's insane. It appears that Ridgid is currently the king in its class when compared to Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, and Kobalt's 1/2 in. high torque. It seems Milwaukee is due for a gen 3 1/2 in high torque impact wrench.
@@Impact-OG just want to know one thing. Kobalt has the tendency to show less bars on the gauge as it overheats, then you gain back that bar as it cools down. What I want to know, what did ridgid show on their battery gauge after driving the lag all the way?
@@InsuranceIsLegalizedRobbery the kobals new battery also has the 21700 cells, thats why I used that battery and the 3.0 of ridgid, and with the 2.0 and the 6.0 it was significantly slower. Thanks for watching
The Ridgid octane was stronger than Milwaukee's best 1/2 high torque. Which considering they are owned by the same company isn't that much of a surprise.
I know the is is late but the 899 is slightly stronger than the kobalt with standard battery. Now with high output batteries they're both good but nothing compared to the dcf900.
This XTR is perfectly fine, but it's not quite up to the performance standards set by other XTR tools. There probably isn't any reason to buy anything else if you're already on the Kobalt 24V platform. That Octane is a beast though, even stronger than Milwaukee's own high torque.
Great thing is for most people it is still too close to care! black and blue looks better and home depot dont give me discounts and I work for the pieces of crap
Hey thanks for watching, I'm just a guy with a camera messing around in his shop. Dont take anything I do to seriously... it's mostly for entertainment purposes. 😀😀😀
@@Impact-OG noice on that response. I simply stated that your videos don’t really match the claims of other videos I’ve come across and you come out talking about mental capabilities 🤣
Both rated hight torque impact wrenches, but Ridgid has 300 more ft-lbs than Kobalt and that’s a lot of power, it would be a great comparison if you do dewalt DCF899 vs this kobalt, they fall in same category, both r rated 1200ft-lbs of breakaway torque, I’ve enjoyed watching this video and thanks for sharing it.
The Ridgid high torque is basically a Milwaukee 2767 and the Kobalt is pretty much the same as the Makita high torque impact from 4 yrs ago so the ridgid is more powerful.
