Man... As a programmer my math is pretty rusty as well. Programming is mostly about logic and problem solving. The math is already kindly provided by the built-in libraries lol
As someone who do programming(although only as a side skill) No, being good at math is not a requirements that you need as much unless you tried to program physics in a video game for example since most programming language only needs you to understand the logic and for you to be able to solve problems in the program coding
You can make it simpler by just change the 9 to 10 and minus 1 on every how much it multiplied lel. 9x47 for example 470 - 47 = 423 i think this is the answer 😂
i just use finger method. just fold your finger started with your left thumb and just count the rest of the finger. in the left and right of the folded finger. ie 9x1 fold left thumb so its 0 finger in the left and 9 in the right of the folded finger so its 9, 9x2 fold left index finger so its 1 finger in the left and 8 in the right so its 18 and so on
This is what I do when I deal with 9 multiplication. Instead of count it manually, I just turn 3x9 into 3x10, and 3x10 = 30, so just subtract it with 3 so the answer is 27.
I'm a pharmacologist who regularly uses math and I despise math tests. In fact, everyday I grow to loathe my field of study, and have in fact begun to view anyone who finds joy in abstract maths with suspicion. That was my chuni arc after all: years spent delving into symbolic logic and abstract mathematics, feeling unearned superiority over those who had what I considered to be mundane joys. I am so glad that a massive termite infestation destroyed my library of academic onanism. It allowed me to discover the soothing balm to the soul that are Vtubers.
Here is my way to do a 9 multiplication You only need to take the number that was multiplied by 9 and subtrack it by one, and you subtract 9 from that number For example Let's say it's 3×9, you take the three, subtract it by one, and subtract 9 with that number So 3×9 = 3-1(9-(3-1)) = 2(9-2) = 2(7) = 27 So 3×9 = 27 It works with anything up to 10, after that you need a different one but just as simple 8×9 = 8-1= 7(9-7) = 72 6×9 = 6-1 = 5(9-5) = 54
So many people trying to solve the question with a new solution in the comment section. Meanwhile here on every morning basis during school we always need to remember the multiplication in case the teacher called us to the front.
those comments.. you just need strong logic to do programming, not math , except your work in artificial intelligence field. even with nowadays platform, you just drag and drop, just need to know how its work . just really basic programming you can make any apps.
Meanwhile in my brain: 3x9... if 2x9 = 18 and if i add 2 to 18 and subtract it from 9 it will be 20 + 7 ez Kobo: 25 😎 Me: Wait did i do something wrong
programming (with the exception of stuff like kernel programming and AI stuff) dont really require math, sure it is useful but if you have python3 then you should have no problem with most programming tasks since python is more than capable to handle most of the math you would need (assuming of course you don't program stuff like nuclear energy production plants systems or stuff like automatic insulin pumps, that you would need some advanced math and likely a new pair of eyes to look over it every once in a while).
