Yes, it does! USA Today Newspaper, KUSA in Denver (now an NBC affiliate), and KOCO in Oklahoma City (now a Hearst-Argyle station) are altogether owned by Gannett Media
At 0:51 is the KUSA-TV on air promo for the then ABC Denver (Now NBC) affiliate, as it was Something's Happening then in the Mile High City, and unfortunately they were not carriers to ABC's Daytime soap "Loving" on their Daytime schedule during the 1988-89 TV season.
ALSO IN THE KUSA PROMO: I see some past anchors/reporters I recall watching Channel 9 on cable in Colorado Springs. I recognize Neal Browne, Dave Sweeney (weather), mustachioed Jim Bennemann (now at rival KCNC), Scott Patrick (entertainment) Still at the station are Ward Lucas, Mark Koebrich, and Paula Woodward. And let's not forget the legendary pair - Mike Landess and Ed Sardella. Ed is at the Arvada cable access channel, and Mike is at rival KMGH.
FOR THE KUSA PROMO: Instead of saying Something's Happening on Channel 9, they said "It's All Right Here on Channel 9." It was because of the KUSA using that news package with accomanying promo theme by Frank Gari. Remember, this was when the Mile High City's Channel 9 was with ABC (the alphabet network). Now, they are an NBC affiliate (the peacock network), and they have been since 1995.
If your'e wondering why they saw the USA Today logo on a screen, they briefly attempted "USA Today On Television" in 1988-1989. Gannett owned Genesis Entertainment at the time. The show bombed.
I saw Jeopardy! in the KUSA promo... when did it move to KMGH in Denver? (I'm tempted to say Wheel also aired on channel 9 before moving to channel 7, but I could be wrong.)
