Original demo for a Kodak film ad campaign which was initiated in 1975 and recorded by Vicki Carr. This demo's original length is two minutes.
Other details:
Kodak initiated an advertising campaign early in 1975 using a tune 'The Times of Your Life', composed by Roger Nichols (melody) and Bill Lane (lyrics) and sung by Vicki Carr. Paul Anka recorded the song and released it as a single in late 1975 which topped the charts in early 1976.
ORIGINAL LYRICS:
Good morning, yesterday
You wake up and time has slipped away
And suddenly it's hard to find
The memories you left behind
Remember, do you remember?
The laughter and the tears
The shadows of misty yesteryears
The good times and the bad you've seen
And all the others in between
Remember, do you remember?
The times of your life.
Reach back for the joy and the sorrow
Put them away in your mind
For memories are time that you borrow
To spend when you get to tomorrow.
Here comes the setting sun
The seasons are passing one by one
So gather moments while you may
Collect the dreams you dream today
Remember, will you remember?
The times of your life.

My grandma, the farm, the way we were. My mom is now older than her parents, as is dad. Mom started needing Oxygen. It's all just Kodak pictures now. What are left.

I was expecting some silly commercial, but this was put together extremely well. Totally selling the product on emotion.

The irony is that in 1975, this couple were on the verge of their golden years with their son having graduated college- yet had evidently gotten married at the tail end of World War II. Yet, 49 years later, the son would be a retiree- and there are getting to be few folks who personally remember World War II much less having served in it!

This two minute extended cut was only for internal Kodak meetings.. The one version which initially aired is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kVHJwMXlbrw.htmlsi=E_lWGvfNCUDdr1vO Kodak later used the Paul Anka version for later TV spots.

In real life the old couple had to abandon the house for peanuts because the neighborhood got so bad they had no choice. Detroit, Chicago, the East Coast sprawl, Los Angeles, Ft Worth, on and on. Beautiful homes and hoods rubble. Only the memories exist. With the CIA and cartels dropping drugs are not the nation Lot of Kodak moments like that. In the end Kodak would abandon their workforce also. The Kodak moments.....God help our nation.

Song was composed by Roger Nichols (melody) and Bill Lane (lyrics). I liked the Parul Anka version, but the emotion in Vicki Carr's version with her beautiful voice is unsurpassable. It brings you to tears.

Hello, Nope, Paul Simon did not write the song in this commercial. Paul wrote the Kodachrome (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N4ltLp30KVs.html) song - not intended nor ever used in a Kodak commercial!
