I had the Retro and liked it, this is a nice upgrade. Disappointing there is still no micro card slot. If you are going to make a digital camera and let it print from your smartphone as well, put a micro SD card slot in it like the Fujifilm mini evo. I’ll probably still get this though.

Kodak is not Kodak. Well, it is but it is not. Most products under the Kodak brand, at least in the consumer market, are not made by Kodak but rather some other company is producing it licensed under Kodak.

@@thomasa.243 Thank you. Yes, I know that. The films are made by Alaris ( Kodak ) which incidentally is a British company, but their chemicals were manufcatured by Photo Systems Inc and the whole lot were sold to a Chinese outfit called Sino Promise, who have pulled out of Chemistry business. KOSMO FOTO were chasing the chenical business but I don't know whats going on with them.. Perhaps these are the reasons that Kodak branded chemicals are out of stock everywhere. All this might be good for buisiness but it is not good for film photography for sure.

It would have been nice to have heard some comments about the quality of the prints or even shown them otherwise its a pretty pointless video except to promote Kodak's new toy. They missed a trick by not allowing internal storage, you cant share a moment when you've only got one print.

A pretty substantial amount of waste. The cartridge, the break off pieces from the photo. Over the life of the camera there will be a huge amount of garbage produced. Not to be a bad person but digital still is the most cost effective and environmentally sound option. Mayhaps a memory card would not be such a bad idea.

As an ex-Rochesterian, I would love to see Kodak come roaring back. But this ain't gonna do it. This is a dud product from day one. There are already more than enough products like this. Fujifilm, Leica, Polaroid, Lomo to name just a few off the top of my head. They are Kiddie toys, nothing more.

IMO, I think you miss the point. I shoot with Fuji cameras. Great, I love them. I also still have an old Polaroid that used to belong to my mum and it always provided lots of fun. I remember once taking it to an elderly aunts birthday and just firing off random shots and capturing the day, The fact that I was able to get instant prints to share with my aunt, all of us, was really quite special. It put such a big smile on her face, handing her those instant pictures, right there and then. A little bit of instant, tangible magic, that otherwise would not have existed....Sometimes, it not about 'kit', nothing to do with the latest or greatest cameras and lenses, sometimes it's just about the moment, the heart and soul of things. I don't agree they are 'kiddie toys' either, that's so disparaging, and simply not true. David Sylvian (musician/singer ex Japan), for example, has had whole photographic exhibitions featuring just his Polaroid images, with many wonderful shots...So I think there is room for instant cameras in any photographers kit, maybe just for those little family get togethers, to capture and instantly share the magic.

@@rayspencer5025 There is no film involved in this at all, it’s photo paper. Not an instant film camera. It’s just a photo printer with a cheap digital camera attached.
