I haven't mentioned this in prior video comments, but I have a form of light autism myself. I just broke down over this. My safe haven has been music and auto racing. Neither of which I'm successful at, but both make me feel a sense of belonging. This is a VERY special moment to me. It gives me hope.

I'm mama to a boy with severe autism. When I first saw this video, the sound of pity that came from the audience when she said he was blind and autistic hurt my heart. But it's people like Kodi who show the world that it isn't a disability but a different ability, and it's not something to pity. The world is harder to navigate with autism, that's true. Stories like his, and his visibility, will hopefully make people see those like my son as a person, not just a disability. I watched Tina's face when he got his buzzer, I felt everything she did to the core of my soul as a fellow autism mama. Thank you for shouting out to her, we often feel overlooked and misunderstood and under appreciated. 💙
This brought me to tears for the second time. I noticed right away that his Mom let him have his own voice. She didn't jump in to answer questions for him. I had the same strange reaction as you did when I first saw this. I got MAD. Happy, inspired, awed, yes yes. But I also got MAD. Here we are, in a world full of petty arguements, non-real social media, fighting, name calling, bullying when this, THIS is what we should be focused on. This performance and this story is LIFE!

I'm glad you reacted to this amazing young man. I am not going to watch this again. I cried rivers the first time I watched it. My nephew suffers from a form of autism and he's a wiz on just about any gaming system. Many people who suffer from autism are amazing at something.
There’s Korean drama called doctor a young Korean doctor that had autism but his gifts is a genius doctor may be people is just blind because his autism there’s a message on that drama and a good example is Stan lee.iwas just cry 😭 .

I'm on the autism spectrum myself, and it makes me so happy to see someone like Cody prove to the world that autistic people are just as capable as everyone else.
So many times I have seen someone who has had something taken away from them such as social skills, or sight or hearing or even some mental ability and its terrible, but it always seems that whatever took those things away from you, be it a god or a higher power or just nature, that same thing gave you something very amazing in return and you just have to find it. Kodi Lee is a great example of this. Just keep living and trying and don't give up.
The very first time watching this I couldn't help but bawl my eyes out from a mother's perspective it was so beautiful I cried tears of pure joy for him and his mother!
I cried watching this when it first aired Kodi is simply amazing, I showed it to my son who is also autistic he just got accepted to college and his saving grace is art so thats what he is gonna major in and to my surprise he wants to be a art teacher. Im his biggest cheerleader because he has shown me he can push past it maintain honor roll and in all honors classes in HS. Hes never went to prom or any high school functions outside of school because it makes him very uncomfortable. He graduates next week and am I worried about him walking across the stage yes because he does not like crowds or anything like that but I have faith that he will be able to do it.
I watched it happen the night he auditioned and it hit my heart HARD. Ive seen so many og these reaction videos on it ad well and it NEVER gets old. My heart is overflowing with love and joy for Kodie. And he wins the whole thing!! Praise the Lord.

I'm austistic and diagnosed late. Music has been my touchstone and thisakes me cry each time I watch. His voice is beautiful. It shows we are human and feel deeply and are talented.
Thank you so much for reacting to this video. I can not tell you how much this video means. My daughter was diagnosed with autism at age 2. She sang before she could speak. Her diagnosis inspired me to become a behavioral therapist for children with autism and I have seen more courage and perseverance than I could have ever imagined. Thank you for reacting to this video in the way you did! I have seen it many times now and it never fails to move me to tears! I work with special needs children every day and we all have learned you can NEVER place perceived limits on their abilities. My class is 3-5 years old, but our school goes up to 13-14 year old, and I can tell you, they are amazing!! They are meeting and surpassing their goals every-single-day! God bless this mom and all the other parents of children with special needs...there is no harder but rewarding job on this earth, and Kodi's mom and entire family have gone beyond the call, I just adore them! Just incredible!

Yes he works hard and singing in a band for years, and performing at various events. He continues with lessons and is very hardworking. Yes he is talented but it came with a lot of effort and support
I hear that once he hears a song one time he can play it on the piano and he has to work a little with lyrics but I hear he can sing in seven different languages!

After anyone watches Kodi Lee and hears his music, you can only react, with how blessed WE are to live in a world that has him. A true inspiration, absorbed with talent that instills upon you every emotion known to mankind. I have to admit that I saw this performance live, and his others since this one, I still can't watch them and not get completely wreaked in tears, hope, and full of life itself.

You absolutely right!! Found his safe haven!!! I was told something when I was diagnosed with a rare cancer, and told I would not beat the odds!! So I am going to tell you, because if Kodi did it, there is no excuse for any one! That's was "THE EASY PART IS OVER! THE EASY PART WAS FALLING DOWN, THE HARDEST PART IS GETTING BACK UP!" So do you stay down because it was the easy way out, or do you fight like Kodi, and get back up again!! I really appreciate you story about you growing up in LA. I was there in the 60's going to college and I turned off in to the wrong area early one morning and I was lost. A fine Christian man who I ask for directions told me were to go and that I better get out of there. I'm glad you are a success. We enjoy your videos and helping others.

My son has Autism and the world is very cruel, but he is still so kind. Kodi said that through his music he can communicate who he is and what he feels.
