Ernie Pestana out of San Jose, Ca had three or four 1066's, and two 1266's. He got sick and retired. They auctioned off his huge collection of equipment in 2009. Ernie put crane hoists on the bottom side of the booms on his bigger excavators. I guess those were to help lower pipe into the trench - I'm not sure. I never saw that part in action. All his orange Koehrings were painted yellow.
Its noisy and ugly as hell, but it looks like if you could get used to the cab being on the right it would be a very productive machine....great reach on it.
I don't know anything about these machines as I don't think they were sold in europe, but, am I right in thinking the controls in them were unique? thanks for the vid.
