These are also fun, in a larger area, to just colour one direction, not back and forth. The colour will slowly fade into other colours over the entire area. I've done it with the tri-tones before, and loved it.
I am so glad you did a review on these. The swatching was great. I bought these last year from Amazon, and I really liked them. I’ve also used them with other pencils, they do blend nicely. You can use the Dahl sharpener on these. They sharpen well, also the AFMAT electric sharpener works well too. 🙏🏽 for the great video.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🌺🌺❤️❤️❤️👍👍
Really loving some of the color blends that are coming out of just one pencil. When I saw you draw the grass with that one pencil, I decided I'll be getting these.
I love these for so many applications, especially under the sea. Great for coloring coral and exotic fish.. The brown pencil makes coloring trees a dream. The look so natural with very little blending. I bought a sharpener directly from their website, as sharpening them was a challenge for a while.
Hi Pamela, thank you doing this review for the pencil. I certainly appreciate it. The pencils are so cool and the colors are pretty and pigmented. I already purchased them and had them for a little while, but have not used them yet. I need to catch up with the rest of your recent videos. By the way, a background tutorial would be wonderful. Thanks again and great video!!🤗
They are so different and unique. I absolutely love them. I have been playing with them since I recorded this video and they're wonderful. I need to do a background for my current Color Along, but not sure these would be a good choice for the page with the bunny, but definitely going to try these for a background on another page.
Thanks for this. I have had two of those pencils for years; I have no idea where I got them. Probably the opshop. I had no idea how to use them, so this tutuorial has been very helpful.
I got these a long time back when they first came out and they seemed so expensive at the time but they are truly magic…I have used them in different books and I’m impressed so much so I recently bought the slimmer set and five new colours…I’m binge watching you…You are brilliant and very thorough…🥰
I would love to have the skinny set. Isn’t that funny that we have to call it the “skinny set”? They’re probably the same size as a typical colored pencil. 😂
They are very cool. I think young ones might really enjoy these. The chunky design and shape would help them hold the pencils well. The lack of control of the color lay down would frustrate most adult colorists. Like you said, if the background wanted was a mix of the colors within the pencil, they would likely be a good choice.
Another pencil set i didn't know I needed! Wow, they are gorgeous! I don't even care if they work, though, the barrels are so beautiful I would buy them just to look at. Thank you for the review!
I think these are some of the most useful blends seen, very fun, very smart blends. I'm adding these to my wish list. You did an excellent job of showing these to us and how they blend. This was an *awesome* review :-D
Hi, Pamela….I think I really want to try these! But I’m torn because I heard that Black Widow is coming out with a new set of 36 either this month or next and I know I will definitely want those! Great video! You explain so well!
I love my F-C Albrecht Durer Magnus pencils. I'd love to have Magnus Polychromos, but I'd settle for Jumbo Polycolor. I have good respect for Koh-I-Noor's stuff. I don't have the small size Albrecht Durer pencils, but I have a larger set of Mondeluz and Kimberly pencils for any other colors I need, but the thick barrel is so nice on the Magnus.
disappointing about the yellows. i'd ditch the sahara sun and have a flesh tone instead. i just bought a blister pack of 3 (UK) and there is a large triangular one a bit like forest violets, a jumbo hexagonal one with dark green/red/yellow and a woodless one of dark turquoise/maroon/yellow. geogeous! i got them to motivate myself to practice, practice practice with portrait/people sketching. there is a koh i noor sharpener specially for them.
I love the Koh I Noor mixed color pencils. I have the small package of five jumbo pencils but I also have the 24 in regular and woodless. The woodless are my favorite because they are just core. As a side note I am not impressed with the Koh I Noor blender pencil.
I’m just going to keep them in the tin. It’s such a small set. They’re so easily identified by just looking at them. The tin is pretty small and compact to store and not anything like having a huge set of pencils that you’d need to move from their tin into a case in color family order.
@@PamelasPassionforPencils Or a standard kids school pencil case. They are robust. You don't have to be careful with them. I just keep mine in the box they came in, but it's held together by dust now 😆
Thanks for making this I'd seen these before, I was interested but thought they were a bit pricey for what I thought was a kids gimmick, but that grass was amazing! I see the potential. Do you know if the KOH-I-NOOR tri tones are the same? They are even more expensive but I'm not a fan of the large triangular size. BTW I can see the 5 pack on amazon now and the colours are unique to that set rather than 3 tones of similar colours like this set you get 3 completely different colours like red, white, blue and purple, blue, yellow .
I bought a 24 pencil tin of the tri-tones at Michael’s in August for $20 on clearance recently. Some of the pencils have 3 similar colors, others have 3 contrasting colors.
They are definitely too wide to fit into a regular pencil sharpener. I tried them and both of these sharpeners and they don’t fit and either one. I did suggest a sharpener that works with them. I found it by reading through Amazon reviews. There should be a link for it in the description box.
