A memorable Ghazal sung by Jagjit Singh in the film Arth (1982). The lyrics were written by the great Kaifi Azmi (father of Shabana Azmi) and the Music composers were Jagjit Singh and Chitra Singh. I remember seeing this outstanding movie in the movie hall when it was released. Since the actor Raj Kiran plays the character of a Ghazal Singer in the movie, there are some really ourstanding ghazals filmed on him in the film. In this particular song all the four major characters led by Shabana Azmi, Smita Patil, Kubhushan Kharbanda and Raj Kiran of the film are seen and the situation is very dramatic. Shabana Azmi was really outstanding in this song, in particular, and in the movie in general.
