it was recorded directly from the game. the video was done by having link walk up the stairs to advance. the thumbnail is there to cover up. that is not the song, that's jin on his copy recording possibly with a capture card and he is walking up slowly to make the build up effect. least he could do if possible is to turn off sound but not music. its been years since i played and beat this game, so i could be missing or forgetting that there might not even be the option.
@@collaborisgaming2190 I dunno, the steps are the kind of situation where sometimes the ost is lacking memorable sound effects. The slow steps add to the atmosphere.
Spirit Tracks was my first Zelda game. I got it back in 2010, or 2011, either one. My sister and I got it the same day, and we both loved it ever since. I honestly don't get why so many people hate this game. Link drives a train? Is that why?
m e m e I think it's partially because of how long it takes to go places by train sometimes and that it brought back a central dungeon that you have to keep revisiting but otherwise the game had awesome music, dungeon design, item usage, story, and fights so I dunno. It definitely gets an unnecessary amount of slack.
@@ShougaTouki Temple of the Ocean King in Phantom Hourglass was way worse because you have to repeat previous parts. Tower of Spirits is better because it's like five dungeons in one place.
its because the controls were rather hard to use, or had to take some getting used to, different than the button style gameplay in the other games. Same goes for skyward sword. Everyone hates it because you revisit old places and the swordfighting is hard at first, yet the music in that game is one of my personal all-time-favorites. Dungeondesign and all the other stuff was perfect, yet people disliked it because of the combat. Meh. What can you do? Nothing. Just their opinion.
did anyone else wait at the door at the top and just listen to the amazing music for longer than necessary? when theres a princess to be saved? and a pair of evil guys and their creepy train to be stopped? lol
I remember when I was a child taht every time I ascended the Tower, I always walk slowly in order to hear the music graduated more and more throught my climb, and always enjoyed this song. And of cours, when I was at the top, I stayed on it for a while just to let the music fill my heart with emotions. Gosh the Tower of Spirits is certainly my favorite place in the whole Zelda franchise, and I think even in the whole video game industry
While it's not perfect, this game has some of the best music in the series, and definitely the best ending sequence, starting with this final epic trek up this staircase. Ganon's tower has nothing on this.
Yeti I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you on that. They both are great tracks. While this one has more of a heroic vibe to it, Ganon's Tower is just straight up terrifying, because it is supposed to be. It is a perfect final dungeon theme.
I could put this on par with Ganon's Twoer from OOT, if Ganondorf wasn't playing the damn theme himself in OOT. That was just more badass in my opinion
@@Chellythefox Yes. This theme and Lorule Castle. Both have progression as you're coming closer, but IMO later is better. Also, somewhat unrelated, but Ascension from Black Mesa: Xen is progressing is similar way an is pure epicness as well.
AirChi I know it’s very sad how people can’t just stop what their doing and give the game a chance to show what makes it great. Instead people just resort to saying “oh it not as good as ocarina” or “it’s not ocarina so it’s very bad.” And don’t get me started on the train part, I thought the idea of incorporating some industrialization to the series was a great idea and it sets the game up for future generations.
@@RF-Ataraxia What's the exact deal about that, actually? I mean, there is not really much you can do while riding horse or sailing aside from fighting monsters. Train keeps that aspect and adds more planning for your route.
@@alexsofia6884 Complaining about industrialization sounds especially silly with SS which have electricity (including some sort of maglev monorail!) and robots, yet nobody complained about those of all things and BotW that also have robots and essentially portable computers and is generally liked. Technically, by that point goron mines already were a thing as well, which also include a bit of technology. As for "it’s not ocarina", hell, that's what defines Nintendo: they don't fear to try out different things. If it wasn't for that, we wouldn't have Ocarina too, which while actually one of my less favorite titles was absolutely groundbreaking for its time. That's also the very reason we got BotW and Switch, the reason we got original Zelda. Really, there are no actually bad TLoZ games, it just depends on your preferences and also which one you played first. P.S.: looking at comments under TLoZ (and other franchises too, really) soundtracks in general, it appears that often first game = favorite game, which first game currently being most commonly OoT (and BotW in most recent times).
Koji Kondo did not compose this. The last Zelda game he was the main composer on was Majoras Mask. After that he's mainly credited as a Zelda composer because of his earlier work being revamped. As far as I can tell Toru Minegishi made this. edit: Apparently Toru Minegishi also made the startup sound for the Gamecube which is also legendary.
Thank you so much for this. A fantastic moment in Spirit Tracks in which you climb the stairs of the Tower of Spirits and the song gets gradually more and more epic as more instruments get added to the song. It starts of as simple but then as you ascend those stairs more instruments get added signifying your progress. At the top of the stairs this simple song ends up being an epic song playing in the background as you march on to the epic finale of this game. Spirit Tracks is such a fantastic and sadly underrated Zelda game. Great puzzles and level designs, beautiful soundtrack with a panflute to give it its own charm and flair. Great story and a heartwarming and wonderful companionship between Link and Zelda.
Canım Türkiyem loved this game so much more than phantom hourglass - this was my second zelda game and im so glad i played it, it remains to this day my favouritr
@@OblivionWalkerVerified so did I, as with basically every other Zelda that came after Wind Waker (including it). Don't really get the hate most of them receive, I just love them all. 💖
hey everyone, thanks for the amazing feedback i just got back into my RU-vid account after a long absence i'm happy to see you guys are enjoying this track as much i am as pointed out in the description, i didn't rip this, ObiwanOM at ffshrine did, hats off to him if you ever find a more epic game tune than this, let me know! /Jin
In my opinion, this game is very underrated, packed with good story as usual, multiple dungeons, probably the best music in the whole franchise, not to mention, you can bring this anywhere with a ds! I beat the game when I was 7, when it was out, and just started playing it again. Thank you Zelda. You have made my childhood. 😌
The spirits in the tower of spirits tell the tale of the hero. "Ah a child hero. with courage in hand, and wisdom at his side. not even the great demon king malladus with all of his power could ever dare to stop this brave adventurer."
In retrospect I love that this contrasts so well with the Tears of the Kingdom final dungeon. Here you're *Ascending* to greater heights, reaching up to the spirits. Meanwhile, the hero of the wilds is descending deeper and deeper into Gloom's Lair. They truly captured how epic this moment was in Spirit Tracks and decided they had to do it a third and fourth time afterwards. The first iteration being Ganon's Tower, and the third being Lorule Castle. It might get old for some, but I hope they do this again with whatever comes next for Zelda.
Can we just appreciate how they made a theme that adds up the more you progress through the game? Like this is actually insane for something only a few people will notice at all. Think about it: You have to clear a whole tower segment, have to get a new map, drive to a new town, drive to a new lockomo so that he extends the map, get to another dungeon and clear the entire dungeon just to go back to the tower and hear the new addition to the theme. And 15 seconds later you do the same. If you play the game normally and don’t pay attention you won’t even hear this properly
Fun fact: if you use the moon jump cheat in this zone and levitates for a while the music speed will increase. If you levitates for like 5 minutes the music would be like 1.75 times faster!
I hear the game audio too, but this track is powerful enough that it doesn't detract in the slightest. Composition is one of those reasons I love this game
Waterlemon , I will gonna replay it, it was my first Zelda game when I was 12 but never understand the timeline but now I’m playing all games to understand it at all and just finished Wind Waker and I’m coming for Phantom Hourglass and then this one that I really love! Is good to see that some people love this game even in 2020!
Hearing Link's tippy-tappy steps brings this a new kind of feel. I love it. I'd start from the very bottom and slowly but surely walk up all these stairs with the knowledge I got so far as to hear the music at the top, I managed to keep pushing through hardship and make this happen. This moment. The realization of accomplishment.
Stunning, this track always makes me seek for hope and happiness. I was left speechless when I could literally hear the ancient Spirits of Good literally cheering me up before the final clash with an ancient demon and a sick traitor: Cole. I want to find an answer for why this song changes my mood, guess I'll find it some day. I feel a strong connection to it even after so many years : )
this is a game design video by "GameMakers Toolkit" about nintendo's mastety of gradual addition in musical pieces that might get you on the right track :3
I hoping not to reach the top to continue listening to this wonderful melody (I'm stupid because I just had to stand or go back to the beginning to go back to the tower xd) edit: you didn't realize that this was in the original commentary and therefore not an edit ...XD
