One of the first test runs of a Kolm IL 200, 3-cylinder inline 4-stroke engine during the RC Oldtimer Meeting in Bocholt/Germany. Later it will find a home in a C-ARF Mustang P-51.

Wow! It's gorgeous. The only thing that could make it look any better would be if it was on MY workbench! As for the cylinders being uneven, you should'a tried balancing my old Pontiac six pack!

It doesn't sound that different to my Saito FG33R3 gas radial, if you have a quality big bore exhaust ring the sound is very close, I wonder if a significant part of the awesome sound is from back cut prop tips in flight?

looks like they bolted 3 50cc singles together.... not a bad idea.... add 2.3 or evern 4 cyls on basically the same case...

I know what you mean! I've seen a lot of R/C 4-stroke videos that have that sound, but I have never heard it in person. It must be some glitch in the way the camera records audio.

This is a dilemma motor.....despite it's absolute engineering excellence and beauty, do you have it exposed and show off it off, or , do you cowl it in, and hide it's BUTT-UGLINESS.........those carbs and velos make it look almost like a Dali-esque melted 6 cylinder V. Bloody things are HUGE !!!!

Stupid Question for ya.... How many Cubic Centimeters? Yes, I see the Model is IL 200, but O.S has that IL 300 and it is 50cc...

They are out of balance. An inferred gun would be useful. The mixture is not even on all cylinders.

+chimp3376 It was one of the very first runs with pre-adjusted carburetor setting. Indeed, the middle cylinder was a little to rich at half throttle and a 1/5th turn at L-needle fixed it. Once adjusted it runs very well at any throttle position. It just takes some time to sync all three carbs.
