On March 16, 2024, Komatsu Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen was opened. The Yokkaichi local ruins are spread out on the east side of Komatsu Station. The ruins of the Yokaichi region were a large unevenness in the middle of the Yayoi period, which was born about 2,400 years ago. It was found that Mura made accessories and wooden tools using jasper and interacted with other regions, and 1,020 of the large number of excavated items were designated as Important Cultural Properties. At the "GALLERY & EVENT AREA" at Komatsu Station, real earthenware and jade excavated from the Yokkaichi local ruins are on display. You can watch it for free.
It is "Komatsu Hikiyama Exchange Center Miyosa". "The gorgeous Hikiyama is a culmination of the craftsmanship and sophistication of Komatsu, and at the Travel Festival in May every year, children's kabuki performances have been performed on the stage of Hikiyama for more than 250 years. There are eight existing hikiyamas. Two of them will be on permanent display, and you can see the powerful appearance of Hikiyama up close" (from the pamphlet of the Komatsu Hikiyama Exchange Center Miyosa). You can watch it for free.
It is "Shoundo". "The Kutani kiln 'Shoundo' founded in the Meiji era, built after the Great Fire of Komatsubashi Minami in Showa 7, follows the style of Komatsu townhouses at that time, and the kiln that was actually used for overglazing remains in the kiln." (From a pamphlet of Komatsu townspeople). Reservations are required. Please call "Komatsu Hikiyama Exchange Center Miyossa" 0761-23-3413.
It is "Komatsu City Nishiki Kiln Exhibition Hall". "The Nishiki Kiln Exhibition Hall, which was renovated from a wooden statue building from the early Showa period, is located in a corner of Daimoncho where the townscape of old Komatsu remains. In addition, this house, which produced a number of potters, was built in Showa 8 after the Great Fire of Hakinan" (from the pamphlet of the Komatsu Municipal Nishiki Kiln Exhibition Hall). The entrance fee is 300 yen.
