If the theme for guest characters in MK1 is comic book characters, I hope we get Deadpool or Wolverine in a future Kombat Pack. I’d also love to see Venom and Carnage get added.

I agree that the kameo could be a stunt double, but another option Im thinking is it could be the original timeline version of the character. They stated that in the new timeline some of the characters are reworked/reimagined, example in the trailer Scorpion is wearing a Lin Kuei crest. So it could be possible that the new Johnny Cage had a different upbringing and is not celeb stereotype.

I’ve wanted to see Homelander in Mortal Kombat for a while now, so if this is true. Then I seriously can’t wait to see it finally happen. I’d also love to see Doomguy from Doom too.

This feels like a fever dream, Homelander AND Omni-Man on the same kombat pack????? Can’t wait to see what they look and play like. Also my theory, which could be absolutely wrong (and probably will be wrong but it would be pretty fuckin sweet) is that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are LITERAL brothers in this new era: Liu Kang says “or united as brothers”; the top half of their faces, eyes and hair look exactly the same, Scorpion has a Lin Kuei badge (or both clans could have merged and that would explain their brotherhood “metaphorically”); etc. I see this happening two ways: either they retcon Kuai Liang and Hanzo Hasashi as brothers, or they reinvent/merge Hanzo Hasashi and Bi-Han into one character (although I really doubt this because Scorpion is literally MK’s poster child). I know this is highly unlikely but I kinda would dig it, Hanzo is japanese, Kuai Liang is a chinese man; there’s no reason for them to look the same. And yes, I know that supposedly in MK lore the Shirai Ryu and the Lin Kuei were spawned from a same clan ages ago. That’s my take, it’s a crazy idea but it would be a ballsy move and I would like it.

I would really love MK to just have characters from the main franchise. Sometimes the special guest characters take away from the illusion we are in a MK universe. I think the time and space should go into giving us as many of the MK characters as possible. I know it is a pipe dream, but it would be awesome.

As for how they would differentiate Omniman and Homelander its simple, 1 has heat vision while the other doesn't. Homelander personality is lazy so I can see him being a semi zoner type playstyle that spams his heat vision because that is his go to in the show, but Omniman I see him being a rushdown character to fit his unrelenting personality.

To answer your question at the end, I’m about as opposite of excited as you can be about the Kombat pack, I think this is a disaster. Shang Tsung for the second game in a row being DLC is absolute horseshit, characters that were once part of the main roster in X (Quan Chi, Ermac, Takada) now being DLC is also not cool (tho I get Takada since he would probably not be part of the main timeline until another 500 or so years, yet Johnny would also be in that same boat, so idk what’s going on exactly), not a fan of the guest characters especially Homelander and Omniman since (like you said) they’re both too similar with powers and abilities, and the idea of making me pay for characters you can’t actually play as with the Kameos is the most insidious piece of DLC I’ve ever heard in my life. I HATE this leak, and the ideas of Kameos in general. I guess the only good news is that I disagree with you, if we’re going by what NRS did in the past, then all the MK DLC characters will end up being important for the next DLC Storymode. So there’s a chance that Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda will be around for whatever tomfoolery is going on in the Aftermath equivalent of this game. Mortal Kombat 1 can still win me over, but as of right now- with all these announcements- it sounds like true WB bullshit that only David Zaslav would have approved and thought of as a good idea.

Honestly I’m still hoping this is fake, because why would they tease Ermac, not add him in MK11 as dlc, and now that they have the chance to add him, they add him as dlc rather then the base roster And then there Tremor and Khameleon which makes zero sense to be cameos because so many fans love these characters and want them to get more of a spotlight. And it not like that’s hard to believe because Tremor did INCREDIBLY well in MKX and gained many fans because of it
