Yep that scene, "Can't we just settle this over a pint? No? Alright! COME ON!" Then Again in that scene BOTH Shrek and the Knights are heels, despite Shrek using more orthodox moves, the use of the chair is a normally heel tactic(but there are still some Faces who use that), but the Knights seem more like Heels
Shrek and Fiona are Shinji and Asuka. Shrek ran away from everyone by hiding in his swamp, and Fiona likes to show what a confident badass she is. In their human forms, Shrek and Fiona have the same hair colours as Shinji and Asuka.
We all joke, but it really interesting to see how the context of the lyrics change when paired with a different sound. Suddenly, instead of just being a song about taking a hold on life and doing what you feel you’re meant to, it’s a song about a man who is dissatisfied in his position in life but feels like he’s too far along the path to change it. He tries and he tries, forever wishing to strike out and grab the life he wants for himself, but is either too scared or too unable to, so instead he drowns himself in his own self misery
If you think about it both evangelion and sherk are about the protagonists learning to love themselves and see their own self worth in addition to learning to let others into their lives aswell
They're also both franchises that are taking a pre-established formula (in Shrek, fairy tales and Disney's archetypes about them, and in Evangelion, mecha and shounen anime) and preying on the audience expectations only to turn the tropes on their head. They also both feature final battles set to famous pieces of music where scenes cut between the different protagonists and their perspectives of the film climax. (Asuka's battle to the death/Ritsuko's death scene set to Air on G String in End of Evangelion, the famous castle siege in Shrek 2 set to Holding Out for a Hero.) They have also both produced like thousands of memes. edit: they also both feature an alternate universe segment where the protagonist wakes up in a completely different world where everyone he knows and loves is in a completely different state of mind.
The Ogre's Dilemma is a moving metaphor for relationships. You want to enter the other's "swamp," so to speak, but the closer you get, the more the other wants you to get out of their "swamp." Truly sad.
This is one of those things that rides the fine line between a religious experience and "the only way to recover from this is to eat lead". I can't decide which it is. I must seek the advice of others and spread this.... ....thing.
I think you're feeling the "phantom amputee" syndrome. It's basically when you feel like your an amputee with no hands and legs, definitely not a made up disease
This is far better than it has any right to be. Slowly warping every song into All Star is a long running Internet joke, but through some dark sorcery you’ve synthesized All Star with Komm Susser Todd into something better than the sun of its parts. Now, I can truly imagine everyone in the world exploding into Ecto Cooler.
Oh laid my grandfather to rest yesterday. Haven’t slept. I heard this and finally bawled my eyes out. I don’t care how stupid this is. It’s magic. Love you uploaded
@@livelaughlark now that I’ve come back to this, I can listen with out crying. I figured out why I like it so much. The vocal chorus in the background. Such a nice little touch 👌🏻
I dunno, but this one always makes me cry. It's probably that I lost a friend who was so very young to a seizure and she was a massive Shrek fan, and All Star played at her funeral, but in my context it goes beyond a shitpost and becomes something that hits hard. Thanks for making this, though. Much love and peace, stay safe
wow - thanks for sharing this. never intended for this to have any sort of impact outside of "shitpost," but this really tugged my heartstrings. hope all is well in your world now - sending all the best.
@@livelaughlark thanks so much for that response. I won't lie, life's been hard since then, it's not all fixed up or like that, but I'm still keeping on. I've had some dark moments, but my family and friends all came in and are doing all they can to help me. I hope it goes well and I can get some proper help with it. And yeah, it's a shitpost, but sometimes a shitpost is what you need to ease yourself especially if you've been tensed up. So again, thanks for the response and thanks for the funny and strangely relevant video. All the best to you, hope things go good for you too.
This is literally a masterpiece. somehow, it blends together so well, with the upbeat tones of All star fitting well with the ironically upbeat sound of the original, and the lyrics taking on a whole new meaning along with all of the original eva sounds.
It was crazy when it was revealed that Prince Charming really only hated Shrek on the outside because he saw himself in Shrek's self-distancing, thus creating a self-fulfilling prophecy in which one is abandoned which leads to them abandoning those after them. Truly inspiring.
When you combine something sad with something happy, you feel sense of balanced, melodically peace. But what is really neat about this, is that from this, I also feel confusion, on both a surface and existential level.
Came back to hear it again, you have created something special both as a joke and as a not-joke... This is meaningful art, something more in a way than the sum of its parts... Much much love to you, this is a great addition to culture and im so glad it exists
Your meme is better than my expectations. I feared that you might have tried too hard and started pitch correcting to the point of it sounding stupid like many other memers do, but you just adjusted the speed and both songs sound very harmonic together. Thank you for your service to mankind.
