Agreed. Luckily, komodo dragons are mostly diurnal hunters. But crocodiles and some snakes hunt at night, so yeah....more hissing.

Mosasaurs are not the ancestors of monitor lizards, in fact most recent phylogenetic analyses place them closer to snakes. And even if they will be placed as sister linage to monitor lizards this won't make them ancestors but rather just closest relatives.
