It's like Konami saw how much EA, ActiBlizz, etc had screwed up recently and decided to release this game to remind everyone who the true kings of shamelessness and half-assing their jobs are.
Shit like this is why I no longer have any faith in the future of Metal Gear and Silent Hill. I simply don't trust Konami to not fuck it up on a massive scale.
They probably saw how much money they still make even tho they release half assed products and thought they could do the same. Sad thing is will have people defending it and playing it lol
When a meat company sold bad meat have to make recall we should make game companies who make buggy and unfinished game make a recall and give refunds to everyone who bought it because they're not learning form their mistakes
This is no longer a case of "publisher releasing bad games". Konami has stooped to a new level where they are incompetent at being a publisher _at all._
Because they are barely AAA devs anymore, ever since 2015 (the whole Kojima falloff) the shifted focus to both mobile and pachinko development. Everything else is just an afterthought to them.
Guys these are the same people that lost the source code for one of their best selling games of all time. And asked a noob company to then remake the game with no source code. I think their fall was long before the kojima drop off. I'm talking about silent Hill by the way. I just hope they die soon so some passionate people can actually make the franchises good again insted of constant disappointment.
i mean, didnt they originally fire/downsize almost their entire development staff originally when they decided to go all-in on switching to solely/mostly producing pachinko machines? if they've got none of their experienced/veteran staff left (due to both the above, and their established HORRIBLE treatment of their workforce), this trainwreck makes a LOT of sense....
I thought most of their developer staff just _ran way?_ You know, bail with Kojima, Igarashi and more? I know they fired some but... most? That’s a dumbass move even I wouldn’t dare do
Yeah, just add gore to it.. make the crowd from silent hill monster n the arm is dismembered if hitted by the ball full of spikes .. hey maybe a new genre of death football
Hey man, they didn't lie. They DID make something more impressive and beyond the border of PES and took it into a new realm...the nightmare realm. I'd say that's pretty impressive.
The video game crash was already coming at that point. The guy behind ET actually wanted to develop a fairly decent game. He just wasn’t given enough time.
"...there have been reports of problems users have experienced with cut-scenes, facial expressions, movements of players and the behaviour of the ball." Or, y'know, "the entire game." Lol.
The fact that people are genuinely trying to defend this on that subreddit is why sports gaming will never improve. The insane lack of logic sport game stans who refuse to ask for anything better because it would question their fanboyism.
Sports game players are the direct cause fr the loot box and MT cancer. It was made profitable by sport game players, so publishers started putting it into bloody everything. This is why I have no sympathy for sport game players whatsoever.
"I saw you being born, and I saw you die", sounds about right for me, I am old enough to have started playing Winning Eleven in SNES back in the day, followed the game thoughout PS 1/2/3/4, and now, it is finally dead.............
It's so sad. Another once great franchise that actually rivaled EAs fifa bs. At its prime the controls on PES were incomparable. Damn near perfect controls. Yeah they would have less licenses thanks to EA but man the gameplay outshines fifa in every department. So sad seeing the great franchises and companies become donkey ass over the past 10- 15 years. Keep up the fight for the people Yong, as well as the great work and stay safe.
@@kicapanmanis1060 Because Konami has been shit for years now. PES slowly became worse and even though FIFA didn’t get better, it was enough to create a gap that will never close.
My thoughts too... this has to be some sort of corporate elaborate scam. It all just doesn’t add up. Why would they release something they literally knew doesn’t work at all in the alpha stage of development. I think they were paid to create this game with outside investment and put this out to run with the money from the investors.
@@TheDakine911 Or maybe this is some Devin Weston style fraud. I may be joking, but it would answer way too many questions about how this thing was released.
And why anyone is surprised? Konami is going full on monetization. Free to play model is just an advert... it's not free at all... free is basically demo of the game. To get something resembling previous versions either play previous versions or spend tons of money on team packs and any other paid features.... It's just pathetic
@@stalincat2457 I said AAA because I don't want indies or formers like Toby Fox, Omocat, Team Salvato, Petroglyph/Westwood, Visceral, Vicarious Visions, Devolver Digital, Landfall Games, Platinum Games, Temmie Chang, Hypergryph, Yongshi/Manjuu, Quatro A, Unknown X, Gamevil, Halfbrick Studios, Dave Microwave, MicroHorrorArcade, Rong Rong, Chilla's Art, Pony Island Developer, OSRS, and anyone involved with them to be grouped with the executives who made all of these problems.
A game called UFL is on the way... I don't know why people completely missed the announcement on it a few months back, but it intends to be an actual good game. There's also one called Goals, but they intend to make it an e-sport in which you can also earn NFTs and already has big investors behind it. So, there are two options coming up that will compete with both FIFA and PES/eFootball for sure if they come out.
Konami: But I thought you guys _wanted_ a new Silent Hill game...? To be fair, they did tell us stuff like *animations* would be missing lol. The crowd looks like those Spiderman PS4 "boat people" haha. The pancake t-pose ref and crazy arm animations looks like Lance McDonald got a hold of this in his "500% more animation" videos.
Never preorder, never buy day 1, and never purchase microtransactions. Hasn't steered me since Mass Effect 3 turned out to be an absolute disappointment.
Because even with all the Glitchy bullshit that's in an EA game and all the microtransactions under all that is a decent game that people put their heart and soul in what we see here with efootball is a zombie a dead shell
Konami has dropped eFootball demo on June 24; named the 'New Football Game Online Performance Test.’ So what we see now is actually the real deal.🤦♂️ PES has fallen from grace. What a shame. No fix can ever would erase this gigantic irresponsible catastrophe. 🤦♂️
I think the CEO of Konami created fake accounts to just down vote this video. Morale for the company is so bad, the remaining employees can't be bothered down vote this themselves. It's basically clockwork to them at this point to expect criticism of their games.
It's such a shame, PES 2021 had some of the best gameplay the series had in years. Shame that are trying to cash in with this monstrosity. RIP Pro Evolution Soccer
Oh, how I missed the ISSS SNES days, when you can have a dog as a referee if you put in Konami code Back then, Konami still know how to have fun, Now, people make fun of Konami
Maybe because you have failed to realize that game development isn’t CHEAP? The wages of the developers, the shareholders. What do you expect? You people just want free shit. Smh
@@alohatigers1199 maybe you have failed to realize how much money these companies make every year just from microtransaction? and most people here are actually the one who support these companies because people who criticizing these games are usually the hardcore players who buy their product every year
@@alohatigers1199 it's not our fault that the CEO's take 100 mil whilst screwing over their employees, they make more than enough money to go around. This is all due to CEO's wanting a bigger payday, they'd screw the employees over regardless so don't comment as if the employees are helped with these micro transactions and we're asking for too much. If you're happy with that and your standards are that low then all the power to you.
As an millennial ardent football fan growing up playing PES, who bought all the titles up until PES2020, this is just the last straw. Good job Konami holding onto all the classic IPs and doing jackshit with them.
What do IPs matter in sports games anyway?? - There are two football-games supposed to come out. One called UFL, which is supposed to be a solid and fair game. And then one called Goals, but they intend to make it an e-sport in which you can also earn NFTs and already has big investors behind it.
I don't even give a shit about their anti consumer practices at this point. It is just a disgrace how both these companies are treating the beautiful world game loved by billions across 130+ countries.
That bar is so low it went through the centre of the earth, came out the other side, escaped the atmosphere, went out of the observable universe, went through the space between space, went into another universe, and went through another Earth, only for it to go through that loop again and again
i am a longtime believer that the EA Sports business model is anti-consumer and is unfair. and i still do. i vowed that i would never play Fifa, never support the business model, never even try it. however, the absolutely state that eFootball has launched in unironically convinced me to buy Fifa 22.
You'd think after all of these failures, companies would start to notice to view their games from player's enjoyment standpoint instead of 'how much money we can pull from the players". If I'm making a game, I prefer moderate but consistent earning with no reputation hit instead of trying to get big earning, but only at launch before the reputation plummets But I guess it's kinda become a recurring theme that, once you're a big name company, greed takes a priority over common sense
For them, failures isn't about how much enjoyment players get from a game. It's about how much they can profit off of a game. Konami tried to pull a Fallout76 and FUT at the same time.
@@zztzgza a good game is a game made by gamers, not businessman. Because a gamer still has passion for the game he made and truly knows how to make it enjoyable and fun for the player, while businessman only see his game as money making machine and as a result will try to implement as many methods as possible to extract money from the players. As Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata said: on my business card, I'm a corporate president. In my mind, I'm a game developer. But in my heart, I'm a gamer
It’s bad enough when EA and Activision Blizzard release a game way to early, that pisses me off. But when Konami does crap like this, it makes me cry in anger, because I loved them
Yong, you should make a video about an important subject, that is a problem for the whole videogame industry: License expiration, the videogame industry has so many problems, that people forget about this. Dead by Daylight has DLC for the series Stranger Things, but the DLC is going to be removed from the game in November. This is a small part of a much bigger problem, it's 2021, and there are still games and DLC removed from digital stores because they are based on a license like a movie, show, cartoon, comic, sports league or celebrity, or has licensed music included, and when the license expires, the game goes away, and this isn't a problem of "physical vs. digital" because GoldenEye 007 cannot be sold again anymore too, the only way to play that game without pirating is finding the original N64 carts, and those are not going to last forever, Rare is not even allowed to make those reproduction carts. While copyright laws are a big mess, and they need a reform, the real issue is that videogame companies refuse to pay more for a permanent license, where even when the license expires, they are still allowed to sell the game, they just can't make another game, when Hollywood studios makes movies based on properties they don't own or use licensed music, they can sell that movie forever even when don't have the rights anymore, the movie rights to Ghost Rider are no longer owned by Sony, they can't make a third Ghost Rider movie, but can still sell the other two.
The reason that licensing issues are a bane for games is because of Marvel, Disney, and Metallica ( for music industry bs). At this point if you want copyright laws to be changed you need to sue them and overturn Metallica's win in court. Glhf with that.
@@zztzgza Copyright laws are a mess and need to be reformed, Disney really is a major reason for that, copyright lasts 95 years, it used to be 56 years, Disney lobbied congress to change copyright laws to avoid losing the rights to Mickey Mouse to the public domain, but they built their empire with many stories and characters from the public domain like Snow White, Pinocchio and The Little Mermaid. But in this case, there's no need to change copyright laws, videogame companies just need to pay a more expensive license that allows the game to never leave digital stores even after the license contract expires, when the license expires, they can't make more games with it, but can still sell the games that were already released. This happens because licensing for videogames work the same way as licensing for toys, clothes, keychains and shampoo bottles, it's 2021, videogames are a serious business now.
That's honestly what made smash ultimate that more impressive. I can't believe they managed to get all those rights again even from companies that couldn't give two shit like Konami. Snake's appearance was the last character before "everyone is here" after all.
I remember telling my friends that free model style games or crap. Over the years free to play has become more monetized especially with the introduction of mobile games. Crappy underperforming games built to nickel and dime you for money at every turn by purposely putting hurdles in your way now improved with loot boxes and advertising 🤦🤦🤦
They say "the game has to make money somehow"- yeah, but when it's clear they barely put any effort into it or there's so much cash grabbing stuffed into it that it's barely a "game", it doesn't look good for the company and is a title I can easily avoid. (I know some people will spend money in those anyway, it's just lame to witness and see how low the standards can go)
Genesis/SNES era & PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era was the best for sports games. It started going downhill but still playable in the PS3/Xbox 360 era and then the deformed thing you see now in the PS4/Xbox One/Switch & PS5/Xbox Series X/S eras.
@@dustman820 No, it was EA. 2K NFL was leagues better than Madden, and sold for less, so EA took the only chance to "compete" (by buying NFL exclusivity). Hence no need for innovation.
I love how he says "look at this monstrosity" when that version of Leonel Messi resembles the actual look of a Mexican player named Hector Herrera lmao.
the screenshot of the crowd has me ROLLING i'm DYING LMAO "look. at this. hellish landscape. of...horrific creatures, the souls of the damned begging for mercy" ahahahahahahahaha
The audience models are some generic characters ran through automatic LOD generation. 3D artist could easily do from scratch a bunch of such low poly people in less than a week and they wouldn't look so disfigured. Hell, you can buy a huge pack of rigged low poly characters for less than a hundred dollars. Just wtf...
@@deRNmEpRrMm exactly what I was thinking. I don't have a lot of experience with in real life large scale video game development. But it's like they started the asset production a month ago it's crazy
I like how they are spelling €-Football 🤣... GG Konami they basicly took the logo for the euro currency and colored in the gap between the 2 bars in the center 🤣
*Konami releases efootball with a horrible launch* EA Sports: Since there's no clear competition, I'll just give you half ass fifa games and put micro transactions so huge you'll go bankrupt by just looking at them
If they stripped the monetization off of it during this "live beta" phase, I wouldn't have an issue with it since it's free. But charging for loot boxes in an unfinished game...
I remember the days when seeing the Konami logo on a game gave a little flutter of excitement, knowing you'd be in for something special, something fun and quirky, japanese yet accessible to western audiences. Now it means "look out, this is shit"
After they deliberately fired Kojima and barred him from receiving the awards for MGS V back in 2015, this was justifiable karma for Konami. They deserve every last bit of it for deliberately ruining once-popular games.
well, they're not lying on it being in the next dimension and the game is beyond believe. The dimension would be Hell, and the game is bad beyond believe.
I actually like that Konami has turned PES into football's version of iRacing, but this is gonna take some time to smooth out, probably a couple of years, just like iRacing did.
I reckon this is the result of a bet at Konami to see how much money they can still make with the absolute minimal effort. If there's one thing the mobile market has shown me is that you'll still get people who'll pay for this.
The took it to the next level all right! They took it to the "I'm a big publisher, and I'm going to release garbage and MAYBE fix some of it in the future" mentality. This AAA broken game releases is completely unacceptable. At least this game is Free-To-Play, but big publishers/developers that keep getting away with garbage releases have to be held accountable. A car company wouldn't be allowed to put out a unfinished vehicle, a computer company wouldn't be able to put out a unfinished computer, a clothing company wouldn't be able to put out pants/shirts with missing arm/leg holes.
Is there a reaction yet of the 4chan cup's player association? If konami get them on their side and adds some apropriate cosmetics it could really become a success in its own right just as the older pes games
i mean, with the exception of people who may have bought the £33 dlc or whatever to be fair people didnt buy this as its free to play, even so, spending your time on this is still high of a price
this is ridiculous, like worst than amateurish level of ridiculous, from an AAA studio, the publisher and the high decider should receive a big fine and a letter of resign, this level of unprofessional business should really be punished
It is literally amazing how someone could consider this to be released and expected it to be not even a good but playable game. How blind or greedy you actually have to be to let this see the daylight xD
